It's his fourth season and he hasn't organised us defensively up until now. It's just too precarious a position for him to survive - I don't really have any sympathy for him, but the pressure must be incredible for a football manager. A change of club would be good for him, he's out of his depth here.Originally posted by dww View PostIf he really turns around our form (including defensively) he'll deservedly keep his job.

I watched the interview and this is how it went.Originally posted by peekay View PostRichard Buxton @RichardBuxton_ 17 minutes ago
Asked to explain further who was behind supposed campaign against him, Rodgers said "I'm talking about people outside of here ( #LFC)"

Rodgers asked to expand on claim: "The hysteria around it is pretty clear that there's maybe something else going on from behind" #LFC

Rodgers: "I'm pretty confident that there's a group of people that don't want me here to be the manager...I think it's pretty clear" #LFC
Yup they are called Liverpool fans.
Rodgers: "I never worry about the players, the players have been absolutely brilliant, in particular this group here. They work very, very hard. Of course there is a lot of hysteria and I think that continues because I am pretty confident there is obviously a group of people that don't want me here to be the manger."
Reporter: "What do you mean there is a group of people that don't want me here"
Rodgers pulled a face and said: "No, no I think it's pretty clear Andy, I think if you look sometimes when we haven't lost games or we have lost games and not performed well the hysteria around it is pretty clear that there is maybe something else going on from behind. For me I will continue to work with the players, they have been absolutely first class and will continue to work on their game. We're very much together as a team.
Reporter: "You talk about a group, are you talking about commentators and people that talk about the club."
Rodgers: "I am talking about people outside of here" He paused after that and said "ok" and got up to leave the press conference
I personally think his comments and his facial expression tells me he wasn't referring to the fans or press but I could obviously be wrong.

I think you are probably right (my feeling is that his error was not getting a specialist defensive coach in this summer). I just disagree with the sentiment that fan feeling is enough for him to have to go irrelevant of results.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostIt's his fourth season and he hasn't organised us defensively up until now. I still think people are too quick to dismiss the good run we had last year. Shows that when concentrated on defence he can make things work. He, or someone working for him, should try doing it more often."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Job done today. Keep the PC simple, and move on.
He admitted himself he understood why he was under pressure before the game, he should understand that relieving though it is, he needs to provide more than one win for that same pressure to ease.
he just can't help mouthing off and saying more than he should.

Maybe after three games, where there's some consistency, then perhaps he can say something then.I get all your points. But........Originally posted by dww View PostIf he really turns around our form (including defensively) he'll deservedly keep his job.
When Rodgers first came in he acted in a manner that I thought showed he understood the club. He said all the right things, was humble and showed plenty of humility. He was a proper class act.
Since last season tides have got a bit rough and he's showed a real lack of class, crying and passing the buck continually. He's showed a real desire to keep this positive LMA manager of the year spin going.
That sort of self back slapping doesn't wash at a club like LFC. Certainly not when you've won nothing in three full seasons of managing the club, when the boss he took the job from was club legend número uno and had made two finals and won a trophy before getting the bullet.Forwards.......

Even if he strings a few wins together now as soon as he loses again the pressure will be on him. He can't win. Most fans wanted rid of him at the end of last season, but FSG in their wisdom decided to drag this out. It's inevitable that he'll be booted out, the fans are not fickle - they have already made their minds up. I'm glad he got us three points today it'll make things easier for whoever takes over.
