This snippet from RAWK sums it up perfectly as to that season

Actually before we had Sturridge and Suarez we were playing slower, possession based football and that was his philosophy. With Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard and Sterling he simply couldn't stick to that whether he wanted to or not as every single one of them is all about attacking quickly. Since Suarez left we've had no real approach to the game, we don't play possession football, we don't counter-attack, we don't press, in fact I really don't know how exactly we're planning to score goals these days beyond some occasionally creative but mostly frustrating set pieces.

Maybe its failing to give credit to Rodgers but it really does make you think

We certainly don't press anymore and on the odd occasion that we do it'll be one player doing it, which is completely pointless.

The signs were all there last summer. We just came off the back of a great season, coming 2nd and playing world class football at times. We were a force to be reckoned with.

Ok yeah, Suarez left us that summer but I just remember thinking at the time "Rickie Lambert... Adam Lallana...Markovic (thought he must've been brilliant for us to cough up £20m) "

We could have really have picked up some class players that summer if we were ambitious enough. I really do believe that.

That's the problem, I think the manager is over-confident in his own ability and seems to think he can work wonders. Bottom line is, the top players need less coaching so that frees up time to work with the youngsters/less experienced.

He's taken on too much, Brendan, because of his own arrogance.

Well, to be fair to Brendan, we had an international break so he couldn't properly train the players.

Apparently we have conceded 3 or more under Rodgers 24! times

Rodgers does have a tendency to throw caution to the wind and go all out for the recovery of points, often leaving an already vulnerable defence even more vulnerable.

People often say it's better to lose 3-1 going for the draw at 2-1, etc, but it very rarely gets taken into account.

How many other Managers can boast a record like that.

That's a good point in isolation but we're always a goal or two behind and don't look like scoring unless we throw caution to the wind (and we still can't score then).

I know the headline figures dont make good reading and you might be right at certain times

My memory is pretty **** but in the last few games we have conceded 3 (Man U, West Ham & Stoke) we havent even gone for it, we have just looked generally **** throughout the match

Does anyone here have the faith he will be able to turn this round?

That's not intended as a leading question, I'm just trying to gauge common opinion.

I reckon a poll would result in < 10% thinking he can turn it round. I don't think he has a chance personally.

                                I'm really not sure.

I think we need an upturn in results very quickly and even with that I think it'll only take another bad run before people call for his head.

Rodgers has spent fortunes since arriving and the last 12 months really hasn't been good enough (although we put together a good run between December - March last season). Not saying that we should be guaranteed a top four position every season but we should be challenging for it.

I'd like him to be able to turn this around and get us back on track but it's difficult to see at the moment.
