I could point to it as a positive. He had a style at Swansea and has slowly adapted his game over time to become less possession focused and onto a different style. He's evolving as a manager.

Its been proven fairly regularly its not all about the possession you have, its about how you use it in an attacking manner.

"Our notion in the game is always to dominate the ball," said Rodgers last month. "I've been in football a long time and my emphasis has always been possession."*

"Is it how we play? Because it's too easy for us at times to play direct in to Christian Benteke, who I thought was excellent. You have to want the ball, you have to get on the football to create opportunities."

Is it too early to start a poll for the wording for the flying banner yet.

So what? He talks bollocks all the time. Even so, in the first 5 games this season that percentage is slightly lower than 50%. Hardly a large enough sample size to suggest a pattern.

Think it just looks like another reason to bash him, but he is giving us enough without looking for things that aren't there.

                Also regarding possession:

                Possession: Stoke - 45%; Liverpool - 55%. Score: 6-1

It adds a bit of context though doesn't it. All supporters are doing is discussing, analysing and trying to throw light and justification onto the current malaise. Its hard to say it's not relevant. 5 games out of 38 is a decent enough amount to form a sample.

bring all the stats you like...end of the day there's now a definite tide turning against Rodgers.....no game plane last 2 seasons a high turnover of playing staff, players continuously played out of position, powers struggles over transfers and who plays,if there was a game where he had the opportunity to exercise a few ghosts and errors it was v Utd,but he failed, won't get too many more chances.

Yeah, only the ones who agree with me though.

My point is that it doesnt really show anything other than Rodgers talks bollocks, which we already know.

If it came with a line about how he still talks about possession being the most important thing in the world or whatever it would add something as it shows his words dont back up his actions. But it was just a graph showing around a 7% drop off in average possession in 5 years. Give it 10 more games and it could be a smaller gap. Just dont think it shows enough for it to be something thats important.

Think its already turned. I dont know many who think he is doing a good enough job to stay. I hate it, but Id rather he now went sooner than later so we can change things. Again

well i think we have unlike last season signed some better players, but problem is BR can't get any kind of fluency or playing style going, still making too many errors....do fsg give him this season and flop again or make a change now appoint a manager with winning experience and try and get more out of this team and still possibly get 4th spot?

The problem with BR is he has a system and a philosophy in mind but he has no ****ing clue how to get there

He hasn't signed players this summer to suit 4-3-3 yet that is what he's going with

Also the passing possession style and pressing game has all but disappeared

Further more it could be argued that in our best season under BR we achieved success by not playing 4-3-3 and by being a more counter attacking side
