the version with "which is why" is much commoner than hence, which is a formal word rarely heard in everyday conversation.
Most people capitalise the beginning of their sentences too. Hence this post.
I think Allen is being 'saved' until his confidence comes back and is surrounded by like minded players (ala Britten at Swansea, etc). This won't happen while a legend is still at the club (Gerrard) who has already mildly poo pooed the reason for having a sideways passer. I haven't googled yet but I distinctly remember Gerrard said something like this last season. I couldn't believe I read it to be honest, was a bit disappointed in Stevie.
Anyhow, once Rodgers has put his long game into action (i.e. bit-parted Gerrard with the fans blessing - and face it we're nearly there now) we'll have Rodgers true vision bearing fruit, i.e. a high pressing game with young legs, old heads and technical ability. Allen being the spearhead. I can already imagine some fans going "Noooooo".
Personally I dont see what Allen has to offer
He doesnt affect the play enough at either end of the pitch to be effective and then you are sort of carrying a player
To me Allen falls between 2 stools, he doesnt win enough possession or offer enough defensive qualities and he doesnt contribute enough going forward
Brendan has so far played 4-4-2 (ish) and 5-3-2 (ish)
Putting Allen alongside one of your central midfielders in a 4-4-2 is an enormous burden on the other player both in terms of winning possession and in attacking play because I just dont see enough of those qualities from Allen
The current system is probably more suited but again I think putting him alongside a holding player asks a lot of that player defensively and pushing him further forward again you have to question whether he would be a bigger attacking threat than Henderson and or Coutinho
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'd argue that in his time at Swansea, Allen was very much a ball winner. He just didn't get much of an opportunity to show this side of his game with us last season.

If we look at Barcelona, the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and even Busquetts are not bulky ball winners. What they tend to do is harry and hassle until the opposition team kick the ball long to our defenders.
Then we have an Agger (Pique) type that brings it down and starts the next move.
In fact, even closer to home we have Wilshere, Ramsay and Rosicky who do the same thing. Winning the ball is not about a meaty tackle, but winning it by forcing the opposition to kick it long.

Think we failed to do that on Saturday and to an extent v Newcastle too. I think it's exactly how he wants us to play and has even mentioned the issue of buying a big unit in midfield. It isn't how he sees us winning the ball back. For some reason we don't do the pressing consistently. Strange when we only play one game per week
The best exponent of that I saw was Lucas before his injury last season. He would only need to whisper 'awooga' in midfielders ears and they would panic and lose the ball.
Allen carried that on for a few games before his injury too. After that it all went to pot.
