It's too early to tell either way, who knows they might be decisive and ambition in the coming months, but it's worth noting the current trend that is emerging.
By all accounts Liverpool have sailed close to the wind with regards to FFP over the last couple of seasons so the net spend is likely to have been very close to as much as FSG actually could have spent over that period.

Personally I'm sure our American owners want the club to be successful on the pitch and to be challenging for honours. It raises the profile of LFC, the cash value of the club and makes Liverpool more attractive to potential buyers.

That Rodgers is an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing is partially their fault as they chose him in the first place but I think they're probably as unhappy and mystified with the consistently crap performances of the team as most Liverpool fans are (especially considering the staggering amount of money lavished on it over the last 3 years).

If the team was successful that would reflect well on them after all.

It's their fault and continues to be so until they rectify it IMO. I think fans will start to turn on them next when it becomes apparent that Rodgers will stay.

Or they replace him with someone other than a top class manager.

Mentioned this elsewhere and never got a satisfactory answer -

Most would agree that currently - Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, Real, Barca, Athletico Madrid, Juve are better than Liverpool, they are all regularly in the CL, all have players which would walk into our team.
You could probably make an argument for several other teams as well.

Why aren't any of those after Klopp?
If Klopp is this uber manager some make him out to be why is Liverpool the best he can do?
Why don't any of those other clubs want him, none are linked with him?

I'd say they're happy/content with their manager. We're the only ones really spitting chips.

I don't think Klopp is regarded as being in that Elite bracket

I think he'd get in at Bayern as he's German, plus Arsenal, Athletico and Juve; but none of them need a new manager

We are still a huge club, he could count himself fortunate to be wanted by us. And by all accounts he's putting himself in the frame

So Klopp wouldn't be seen as an upgrade on any of those managers for their respective clubs?

Of that list of clubs only Juve are actually in the ****, Chelsea will grope their way to form.

I can't really say. I'd take a guess that if their manager was being as useless as our own they'd probably be happy to give Klopp a chance. He's pretty well liked. I just wish we'd get him.

So basically what you are asking is how does Klopp rate against van Gaal, Pellegrini, Wenger, Mourinho, Blanc, Guardiola, Benitez, Luis Enrigue, Simeone and Allegri.

Pretty well would be my answer. He is behind Mourinho and Guardiola. He is behind Wenger and probably van Gaal although an arguement could be made that those two have seen their best years as a manager and that Klopp would possibly get the nod if he and those two applied for the same job.

Pelligrini for all his years in management has had less impact on a major domestic league or in the Champions league than Klopp has in far less time.

Blanc I think would still come behind Klopp and it is difficult to tell just how good a manager Luis Enrique is, but he does have some major honours under his belt, honours which were won after he faced some resistance from the players..

The rest of the names on there, Benitez, Simeone, and Allegri are probably part of the same tier( or very close to it) that Klopp is on, and it would be nip and tuck imo if Klopp and any of those three threw there name in for the same job.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

They could've spent more this summer if that was the case with FFP.

They've looked at the figures, they know that spending another £200m doesn't guarantee success and therefore doesn't increase the profits significantly in line with the expenditure. Will they recoup enough extra profit at the required rate from the club spending £200m net? If they're going to spend big on players, then they'll also need to spend big on wages.

On that basis, from a financial point of view, it may well not make sense. In fact the only sensible thing may be to carry on as we are with the current plan, taking the profit from the current rate of expenditure, having us hovering in and out of the top 4. They didn't make their money from taking big risks, that's why the money is going into the stadium and not top class players.

You cant speak to everyone in the same way. Personally Sterling totally deserved it. But thinking he wouldnt get stroppy and have issues with Rodgers down the line? Fantasy. You can read that little **** like an open book. He was never going to stay with us.
                              Absolute nonsense.

If a player gives a manager lip in front of everyone he's right to quash it straight away. It's not up to Rodger's to make exceptions for Sterling's temperament. It's up to the player to accept he can't behave like that and adjust his attitude.

Rodger's had been in charge for only a few weeks at that point. Imagine the new boss being seen to take that from a teenager.

In any case, it really wasn't that big a deal and I doubt it had anything to do with Sterling leaving 3 years later!
