Well........ If you put it like that. I agree. I think our biggest problem is that all the players I'd want in the side fit best in one role - that of behind a striker in a free role. Gerrard. Sterling. Coutinho. Lallana. Even Markovic I'm told fits this role best.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThere is another reason I want to go 2 up top and that is to stop him playing the system he is now
Take Saturday for instance, when we did break we had Coutinho, Lallana, Henderson and Sterling all coming inside and congesting the play
Sterling was the only one of them who shows any kind of inclination to go wide
I think we could do with cutting down on the number of bodies in the positions just in front of the opposition box because its mightily congestedForwards.......

I liked the way Lovren could hear him but he just totally ignored him. Mig kept shouting at him but Lovren didn't even look back. Lovren went up a notch in my book. He's now at notch one!!

The end was brilliant. Migs there with his hands stretched out with a look of 'why the **** did you do that'

Here's the issue for me, it's not who we pick as we can all argue who has been less worse than others this season it's how we play with the players selected.
Decide to pick Lambert from the start? - No problem with that, only fit striker so play to suit him, get balls into his chest, get runners around and off him and go back to front quicker, also pick Lallana with him as they have a good understanding due to Southampton.
Lambert is good in the air, not so quick on the floor so also pick wingers/wide players/full backs that will get wide and produce crosses which is Lambert's main strength.
What you don't do is pick an immobile target man, play our least mobile/athletic midfielder in Gerrard close to him then pass the ball to death between Mingolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren and Enrique who all look shot to pieces in possession, don't make Lambert run across the line with no hope of receiving it as we don't look long to play short, we just look short. If all you do is look short you don't see the movement high.
Play Gerrard with Lucas, ask Gerrard to pick out Lambert and get Lallana, Sterling and Hendo going off and behind him., honest to god it is that simple.
I posted months ago that I liked Rodgers but that he was digging his own grave with elementary errors with personnel and tactics, when he gets the sack (because at the moment it's a when not if) he'll only have himself to blame.Last edited by The Birdman; 10-12-14, 01:59 PM.The King was back for a short while. Whether we've got sensible people making the decisions is a different opinion
blaming the owners is wrong and unfair imo
So true. Thats why i think that last Bascombe article was a tad lazy, pandering to certain fans who want to hear it.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

doesn't explain why when under no pressure, Lucas was passing to the opposition as often as he could. He's an awful footballer. Legs have gone. But he is the only recognised defensive midfielder on the books so playing him at present is a must despite his inability to run or tackle or pass.Originally posted by Alex View PostIt was bang on. Who is Jay Riley and why should I pay any attention to what he says?Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostJay@Jay82_LFC 4h4 hours ago
Rodgers loyalty to under performers & poor eye for a player has got us in this mess. Will he change? If he doesn't - he's gotta go.

@Jay82_LFC not happening if @Jay_78_ is correct

@GregDeR7 @Jay82_LFC That may well have changed now. Not getting through to the CL last 16 is criminal really. A financial blow.

@Jay_78_ If we lose to the mancs on Sunday, reckon Rodgers is in trouble?? Something aint right at the club right now...
Jay Riley@Jay_78_ · 2 hrs2 hours ago

@Jay_78_ if Liverpool lose against utd and arsenal do you think rodgers has to go?
Jay Riley@Jay_78_ · 2 hrs2 hours ago
@RCKempy It's a possibility now, he's clearly a man under huge pressure.

I liked the meaner Lovren. He looked like he meant business yesterday. Hope he can push on with his new gained confidence now. ****ting Van Persie in the goolies on Sunday would be a bonus. One tit for another.
