I don't mind Villa all that much although the way they've played us at Anfield of late has been irritating. Only United and Chelsea really bug me
Villa are one of the traditional "big boys" of English football as this list of average league attendances since 1990 shows:
1990-2014
1. Manchester United...........61,009 (25-14)
2. Arsenal..........................43,631 (12-11)
3. Newcastle United.............41,712 (0-4)
4. Liverpool........................41,375 (10-8)
5. Manchester City..............35,798 (4-2)
6. Chelsea..........................33,807 (15-9)
7. Aston Villa......................33,773 (2-4)
8. Everton..........................33,410 (1-1)
9. Tottenham Hotspur..........33,088 (3-2)
10. Sunderland....................32,001 (0-2)
11. Leeds United.................30,338 (0-1)
I'm sure if they did go down this season they'd bounce straight back up again like they did the last time in 1987/88

Speaking of Dim........from F365Originally posted by G View PostEven better if Tim "59% win rate" Sherwood takes them down.
Tim Sherwood
A heartbreaking start on Tim Sherwood's return to Premier League management, as Aston Villa conceded in the latter stages of both halves to lose to Stoke. "We'll be fine, no problem," said Sherwood upon his unveiling at Villa Park. One suspects that only now does he appreciate the enormity of his task.
The best piece of advice for Sherwood might be to try and keep his mind on the bloody job. In the 24 hours before his first league game at Villa, Sherwood took the chance to publicly inflate his own reputation once again.
"I left a bit of a legacy at Spurs with those young players. If I hadn't resisted the club wanting to loan him out last January, he wouldn't be Harry Kane now," Sherwood said. "I don't think anyone's managed to better my win record, even this guy Pochettino, and everyone's talking about how well he's done. It's all about man-management, how to get the most out of players, and I did that at Tottenham because my record suggests I did.
"I think Pochettino has done a really good job there, but mine's still up there to be shot at. Experience is overrated. Pep Guardiola didn't have to go out and work in the lower leagues, did he? It helps when you have the best players in the world."
After the dourness of Paul Lambert, Aston Villa fans may appreciate such bullishness, but it's a fine line between confidence and misplaced arrogance. Villa have a squad of players that should not be relegated; Sherwood needs to make sure that doesn't happen. His win ratio stands at 0%."I will make the boys feel your support"
