What exactly has Rodgers done to give us hope that next season will be better.
What had Rafa done before he came to Valencia? What had Jose done before he went to Porto?

FFS mate, you are being overly negative and it's clouding your judgement. He is inexperienced yes but he will improve. He needs to start somewhere.

The first part is true and that's why we will stick with Rodgers until the end of the season, as we should. Beyond that will depend on our league position at the end of this season. We can't keep chopping and changing, we need to find an approach and stick with it. We need to give Rodgers a chance to change things. I don't think he will, though I'd love him to do it. I want us to be successful and I'd like to be successful with a young manager like Rodgers. I wanted Martinez in the summer, he might have struggled too - who knows?

Or Klopp before he went to Dortmund.

Nothing, but then proved it at those clubs,Rodgers is failing, in a big way. He is not Rafa or Jose he is a man that has already been sacked by a small club for failing.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

Relying heavily? How exactly have we been 'relying heavily' on Sterling? True he's probably played more games than he would have, but it's not as if we just give him the ball and stand still, demanding that he takes on five defenders and slots the ball into the net, otherwise we'll lose the game - he plays now because he's good enough to play, and he's not worse than any other player in his position so his inclusion doesn't make us weaker.

Latterly Wisdom has been a liability, but other options were available yet Rodgers, in his wisdom, chose to persevere with Andre.

Rafa was given the boot at a small club earlier in his career.

You can't judge someone soley on getting sacked by Reading. Or on 5 months in a job either.

Rafa had been sacked and relegated before.

Your expectations are simply unrealistic sorry. And if you can't see the improve from Kenny's last 19 games you are letting your dislike get in the way.

Rafa was sacked at Osasuna, in the second or third division, I think after 10 games or so.

Relying heavily because he has played in 17 league games,26 in total this season. My point was about him not being used as much if we had a bigger squad. He could have been cycled in and out of the first team.

Valencia had a top quality squad which Rafa adjusted to turn into title challengers, and Porto were the superior force in Portugal at the time.

Rodgers has qualities similar to both managers, but he has not had the resources that Mourinho or Benitez had at Porto and Valencia. It's not undermining their achievements, but pointing out the basis with which they started with. Look at what Rodgers is starting with.

The only worry is whether we did go for flavour of the month, as Coyle was with Bolton or Chris Coleman with Fulham a while back.

My beef is still not getting a top quality DOF to sell the vision of the club at times like this. I still think it was a big mistake and would've allowed Rodgers to 'coach' as he likes to do best.

Which is why he should have either stayed with Swansea or gone to villa or someone.

It's like the shelvey scenario. We all believe there might be a decent player in there but it's going to be very painful getting there. You would rather shelvey go on loan to another club and complete his painful development there. That way when he comes to us he's more complete in his skills.

People asking what rafa did before Valencia but that's one learning step back from us. When rafa came to us he had won la liga and a uefa cup I think. Rodgers got Swansea promoted from league 1.

                            Big big difference.

Valencia was a top club in Spain, just the same as us in England. I don't want to bring Rafa into this thread. But as a comparison for managers at certain stages of their careers it works well. Same with Jose.

Yes you might have a point but now he's there, are we going to sack him and start again? I think this would be short termism. We'll get there.
