We saw how Kenny was left isolated during his last January transfer window, when FSG knew they wanted somebody else. Fast forward to January just gone, and they've handed £20m to Rodgers to continue with his project (c) ... I dunno, can't see it myself.

I can see a lot of managerial changes in the Premiership throughout the summer, I think it's positioning - much like Mourinho - to get their name out there as sides draw up shortlists.

As long as Ancelotti and Mourinho avoid Old Trafford, paving the way for Moyes - I don't care.

No offence but I thought it was wank. Written by a United fan. Its not funny, its a tedious 'gag' and the quiz is piss easy. I got 14/14 because their quotes are piss easy to distinguish. Some are quite clearly Brent and some are quite clearly a football manager.

I am giving him until the end of next season. I realise it's not exactly long term, but think he should be given a reasonable chance to see his plans (if any!) materialise. Am not convinced but am forcing myself to be somewhat patient.

I dunno. If he finishes in 10th with a piss poor performance in the cups, the case to keep him will be a difficult one to make. A lower finish than that, and it starts getting really hard.

You'd hope that the likes of John Henry awould be able to tell a bul****ter fron the real thing, leaving aside that every mangerial appointment is an educated guess/hope that may not work out. But, keeping on the pessimistic side, it really does seem that the world is full of very lucky bull****ters in very high positions which in no way reflect either their ability or intelligence. Not saying that Rodgers falls into this category at all - just voicing my doubts. Overall though I'm optimistic about our future under BR and FSG. This season was never going to be pretty. If we had achieved this mythical consitency we all want we'd be close to the top of the league which was never going to happen. Hopefully we're what a team building to something special looks like in the early stages - great signs of progress followed by almost inexplicable failures.

This season at the least will I think be given as a freebie but I think they'll be pressure to start delivering from the get go next season.

In terms of attacking options I think we've done pretty well at getting the right sort of options to suit his stle of play but defensively is a real worry for me, we ship far too many goals and he needs to show that he can actually fix this, it's not as if they players in the back 4 are bad players but we've shipped 34 goals in the league already we shipped 40 last season and 44 the season before.

If we finished outside the top 10 or even 8, I think FSG would be looking for explanations. And that's my big fear - we go out of the EL and top four becomes unattainable and our season just peters out and we drop down the table.

clearly this season is a 'transition' and a first one being about settling for him. He's had the transfer screw up last summer and only now are we properly getting going in terms of shaping the squad as he wants it.

If we work on strengthening the defence over the summer with a few other squad tweaks then he really needs to come extremely close if not get us 4th. anything less than that and it'd be a sliding scale. If we're hovering around mid table all season again he'll be gone I think. If we're in Europe all season then he'll get a 3rd.

Common sense really. We really don't need to be chopping and changing all the time so he'll get some patience I expect.

At the start of the season most fans were ok with that scenario, given that its his first season. I guess fans are fickle as ****le.
