I tend to look at the pre-martch comments rather than post match, as post match comments are often made when emotions are high and the thoughts are over run

Rodgers is far more ambitious and positive than Roy ever was
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Central midfielders have to be willing and able to scrap and fight for possession - and I just dont think Allen is

Henderson on the other hand will compete and whilst technically he might not be of the same skill set as Allen there is no denying that his contribution both in terms of closing down / pressing and actual goals / assists far exceed those of Allen
Obviously, we're not going to agree on our stance with these two players but I really do want Henderson to kick on and become a consistent performer. I've supported him since we've signed him (until recently) because he's shown some brilliance as well as great work rate but he just seems so fragile mentally. More so than other players.

Anyway, he's to Henderson putting in MOM performance on sunday * and me looking an idiot

*Gut feeling is that he will be dropped

Wow dude calm down! Several other people have mentioned the Roy-risqué nature of it too. What he said didnt tally with the performance and he over-egged the positivity imo.

I'm indifferent to him at the mo. some good football, some good performances recently, but too many lacklustre performances in the mix too. I'm happy to give him time, but he is a bit of a gib-****e!

The 'near-perfect' comment is the first time I've disagreed with Brendan and that includes the way he's handled Carroll, Downing, Henderson and Skrtel. I think they all needed a kick up the arse tbh.

You could quite reasonably say there was mismatch between performance and reaction, but to call it Hodgsonesque would be brutal. The Bodge was half way to telling us we should expect defeat before the ****ing games, and would shrug off the unedifying crap result and performance afterwards - compare that to just being happy with the performance whilst bemoaning the result.

Football is a trade off often and its about finding the right balance

I have thought for sometime the balance is off kilter

Hodgson after a 2-0 drubbing by Everton

“From what I saw I thought we dominated the second half totally. I thought the shape of the team was good today; the quality of our passing and movement was good. We didn’t score goals and Everton did but I refuse to accept that we were in any way outplayed or any way inferior. I watched the performance and the second half was as good as I saw a Liverpool team play under my management that is for sure.”

Rodgers is like a mini Mourinho. Isn't surprising considering he learned a lot from him.

Want total control, never his fault, know how to talk with the media and the fans.

roy's comments often revealed a lack of ambition unsuited to lfc, a total ignorance of the mindset and expectations of our supporters, ignorance of our past success, an unwillingness to defend the club against criticism from either managers or the press.
rodgers is the complete opposite of the bodge. even if the results have been the same so far.

...am I the only one getting seriously bored with the motivational claptrap. He is trying too hard to play out from the back with players that just are not that good in possession.

I cannot see FSG sticking with him at the end of the season if we end up lower than 10th which is a major possibility with the way we cannot finish off teams whilst enjoying domination.

Other teams look at our soft underbelly and exploit it even if they are inferior to us in quality.

Zenit haven't played in ages and still stuffed us.

Just not good enough in terms of concentration.
