No, it's just that it was expected with so many players. Expectations are higher and new players are still adjusting. Defensively we are still making mistakes and with our attack broken a wee bit, we are finding hard to get results.

We'll get it right though. I can see some signs of improvements already. Balottelli will need to adjust. Or probably, we'll need to adjust to his natural game. We are looking for him to make runs in behind but it's not his game.

Brendan's first serious examination. First season he had a lot of grace for obvious reasons, second season he was ****in magic......we'll see what he's made of now cos this is ****ing ****.

He's all over the place this season with all the new players and no Suarez, Lucas starting the first game of the season after us spending all that money said it all, he hasn't a clue what his best team is and doesn't seem to realise the diamond is by far our best formation which is a real worry as he seemed the type to learn quickly from his mistakes.

I think it's down to us not dominating in midfield like last year. Owning the midfield by constant pressure and winning back the ball which in turn gives us more counter attacks. This comes down to: new players needing to settle in, injuries and Gerrards poor form (no speed and lots of misplaced passes). In my opinion. And I'm a big fan of Gerrard.

I'd agree with most of that although how much of it is gerrard's form and how much of it is the whole shape not quite being there yet I'm not sure.

We have a lot of injuries at the moment which we didn't have last year but generally speaking none of his teams have been good defensively. Swansea werent (43 & 50 goals conceded i think) and we aren't either. We were told its down to individual mistakes but is it.

There is a trend there.
