Fans still have this niggling doubt about Brendan.

Most have never taken to Brendan, like say for example Dalglish or Rafa.

Personally I thought last season had very little to do with Suarez, he was the lucky ******* who was in the right team (Brendan's) at the right time. Not the other way round. Watch him never repeat his LFC performances for Barcelona (he'll score 20 odd goals in an easy league but he won't be anything like 'our' Suarez).

I'm trying to stop completely disappearing up Brendan's arse but I think Sturridge's injury and Markovic/Lallana's key introduction at ground zero has thrown his plans out the window. Balotelli has compounded the misery. But all these are temporary woes while Brendan gets his brain into gear for the new challenge.

      I totally agree with that.

My one gripe with Rodgers though is his bottle to make a big decision - such as dropping Gerrard or playing Sterling upfront or something like that.

I think some fans are worried about Brendan Rodgers but that's only normal. If we had drawn up a list of all the managers we would have wanted to replace Kenny, Brendan wouldn't have been in the top 10 names let alone the top two.

He performed miracles last season but what fans are getting worried about is was Brendan responsible for last seasons success or was it down to the genius of Luis Suarez.

That's nonsense. Why is it a big call, because it's what you want?

Playing Gerrard in DM last year was a 'big decision', nobody expected it and we reaped the rewards.

Sterling has a been a winger all his career, yet Rodgers had the vision to play him as a No.10 ahead of other more natural AM's. That was a 'big decision' and one people hold against him when he doesn't play Sterling there in certain games.

Recalling Carra, selling Pepe, not playing £17m Sakho, selling/ not playing Agger, dropping Allen etc. - All big decisions. Just because you don't agree with certain decisions, doesn't mean he's bottling it.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We have put Lucas in DM and Gerrard back in the 10 and look what's happened. This is more like the liverpool under BR we know and love.

Well done Brendan. That's you alright for another week.

Hendo was deepest when Gerrard moved not Lucas. That's why Lucas was twice on the edge of the area to **** shots up!

Brendan finally hinted at the Gerrard conundrum today. Moving him up front is the first step toward eventual phasing out. In the most respectable manner as Stevie deserves.

Suarez missed the first six games last season and we we're right up there..

Difference - settled team, Sturridge fit, no cup games.

We need to adjust to the position we find ourselves in and I am confident we will.

I'm excited about this season and confident we will find last years form for periods. Long enough to get top 4 and be ready (and more experienced next season).

Am I making this up or has Rodgers alluded to his teams growing as the season goes and finishing it stronger? If so we're not in a terrible position although not ideal given the loss of Suarez and injury to Sturridge.

Right now is the biggest test for Rodgers though because our back 4+keeper is a shambles, questions around Gerrard, looking rigid as an attacking unit and trying to bed a lot of new players in at the same time.

My one question mark over today was that in the 90th minute we had Gerrard and Lucas on the edge of their 18 yard box with Henderson 10 yards behind with Moreno fairly advanced. We seem to be asking for trouble at times rather than showing a maturity in seeing a slim lead out but that's really me picking the bones of it.

BR was raving about Hendos advanced role after the game.

I know, he was advanced for most of the game which is why I was scratching my head at what followed when Lucas came on. When Gerrard moved up it was Hendo who dropped back as can be seen when Lucas spoon's his shots over the bar from the edge of the box. Hendo wasn't in the Gerrard role beside the two CB's but he was the deepest in the latter stages of the game.
