Have utd got value out of their outlay this year? Its mainly the established players that have pulled them through, what is Rooney being paid?

It doesn't though. £100m on a team that hasn't won the league in 25 years. Bale. That's 100m. Suarez at 75m. These are the real game change players. Take the ten best players in world football and see what they are paid.

Look at city. They have spent fortunes. Where are they now? Facing a complete overhaul. It takes years of investment to build the foundations. Utd and Chelsea have this. You need to keep spending at mental levels to stay there. City eased off buying quality and have paid the price.

Another 100m in the summer wouldn't touch the sides if we stick to not buying established players. Let's go balls deep for two £50m players but then we are back to wages.

        Giorgio Chiellini
        Yarmolenko
        Konoplyanka
        Sami Khedira
        Dani Alves
        Nigel de Jong

I'd take all these free agents in the summer over last season's £120m flops any day of the week.

you do not have to buy 40m and 50m players unless its very special circumstances

its about buying the suarez from ajax, bale from southampton etc before they become superstars.

scout better, give rodgers full control.

the fact that so few of the summer signings have played big roles suggests that rodgers did not want or choose most of them.

So would I but don't forget the 40m odd you'd need to pay them every year.

good luck. Alves would expect at least 180k a week. The first two are gettable.

Ffs, surely that's exactly why we spent £20m on markovic. If you are trying to sign the next superstar before they are great you will surely always have more misses than hits.

Does it? Maybe they were just ****e buys whoever purchased them. I am pretty sure if Lovren played more like Maldini than Bramble he would be playing week in week out whover bought him

thats the problem with the committee

if rodgers had full control and signed a markovic type, hed get much more playing time and in his real position instead of wingback

                          is this 100 percent sure?

did he really say 'yes' to balo for example?

I've posted this a few times but unfortunately it doesn't seem to sink in all that well.
Bootroom, We all know Brendan is steeped in Bull**** and that just sounds like more from him, he might have wanted to say .......

However, the boss says the input of Ayre, Fallows and Edwards is a help rather than a hindrance in the recruitment process.

“Obviously, I am involved heavily in the identification of the player,” Rodgers told the ECHO.

“The principle idea when I first came in was that like any manager you will have the first call on a player and the last call. I suggested Sanchez he didnt want to come, And wanted to bring in a few older more experienced heads but FSG Policy would not let me.

“That’s the call on whether he’s good enough to continue to look at and try to organise a deal and the last call to say yes or no. I wanted Williams they gave me that cart horse Lovren, i knew he was a 1 season wonder...but I just prayed he could continue his 1 good season....didnt really want him it was an age thing with FSG. I wanted to spend 20m on a proven player but that cunt Ayre is ****e at transfer dealings and was obsessed with finding the next Suarez, He gave us Markovic, i said he looks a fanny but might be a good player in a year or 2 but we need someone good now.

“The finer details of that are left to Ian who does a ****e job and is to busy playing horsey with Robbie to sort seals out and our other guys in that field who will go through the contracts try and save every last penny the tight arsed ****s . I am aware of where the situation is at right the way through the process and I get annoyed as ****

“We will never bring in a player here who the manager doesn’t want in, But when you give me a choice between Balotelli and no-one who do i Pick? That’s how wank the owners are and the other people at the club.

“We work very closely together – it’s worth stressing that, But i never get what i want, but am desperate to succeed here It’s key that we are very much one club/

“We are really preparing for next season, but thats all we ****ing ever do....I wish we would buy proven quality and I’ve had some very good meetings with our recruitment team which lead to ****ing nowhere.”
