A bad start and the fans will turn on the owners as well as Rodgers pretty quickly.
Maybe that is a good thing, by keeping Brendan the pressure will be on everyone right from the off whereas a new manager will give the owners a bit of breathing space.

I"m sure they've been in contact throughout the season. I can imagine this meeting.

Gordon: So Brendan, that was a **** season do you agree?
      Rodgers: Yeah it was ****
Gordon: Promise me it'll be better next season?
      Rodgers: I promise!
Gordon: Oh, and about those transfers, do ya reckon they'll be better next season?
      Rodgers: Totes
      Gordon: Awesome..high five!
      Aye

The review meeting is all bollocks and was just leaked to make it appear fsg were going to do something about last season pathetic showing. There is going to be no changes. All Rodgers needs to accept is that he is happy to continue working with the transfer committee. The club has no ambition.

If nothing changes in that meeting or before the season starts, I really would worry for us as a club

          It's a difficult situation.

I think the prime failure for this season was a failure go try and get key targets signed early doors. Actually, that's partly lies. We did get them done early, we just signed the wrong type early.

A replacement for Suarez was essential, but for me that wasn't recognised by the club. Tbh I can accept that mistakes can be made. The whole set up is brand new and it was bound to have mistakes along the way.

We can debate this season all day, but for me, if we signed a top striker we'd have finished top 4. But it's not going to be so easy next season. So we need a massive improvement.

What we need this summer is an excellent transfer window. The main worry leads me onto the next reason we failed this season. I just don't think Rodgers knows what he wants. Or if he does, he seems incapable of making it work.

And tbh, my main issue with the club has now moved away from the transfer business, and onto how our manager sets up his team. Because despite being dealt a bad hand, that hand should've still been played better than it was.

If I was generous I would say no more than three Basel players would have got into our team to play in the Champions League games. Yet they beat us. Ridiculous.
          Forwards.......

Can't see any way that this would be a good thing.

The club are spending every penny we earn on the squad. Not even for biggest critics are saying they are holding back the cash. It's not a lack of ambition.

At most, it's a poor strategy.

I'm worried now. But I guess whatever happens we will just have to see how we start and how the new signings come together.

They will likely have the opportunity to put some more of their own money into the team with ffp being relaxed. I wonder if they will speculate to accumulate. (They won't).

They do like doing things on the cheap. Cheap young manager, new stand instead of the new stadium, biggest earners leaving, losing sterling, replacing a £70m striker with a £16m one. Sure, they spend money but there is no bold plan, more of a keep things ticking over strategy.

If Rodgers stays & those mentioned name likes of Milner, Clyne, Benteke, Ings etc are the only ones targeted... we'll just have to get behind the team & hope that it works. The slightest hint of failure, and the pressure will be on.

Not replacing Rodgers doesn't make any sense unless the rest of the committee have ****ed up badly in which case they all need to be replaced. Something major needs to happen otherwise we'll be in the exact same situation next season, another lost season. My gut feeling is that Rodgers carries most of the blame.

Look this is ridiculous, they need to sack Rodgers immediately and sue him for mis-management and sack the entire committee and sue them for fraud.

My piss is boiling I am so disgusted!

                        (am I doing it right?)

You say on the cheap, but every penny we earn goes into the club. If we as a club are not making enough money, that is a result of the failure of past owners, not them.

I have never expected and nor have they ever said, that they will bank roll the club and piss millions upon millions up the wall. But then none of these other potential owners we had in for us would have done that.

You can buy three times as much food at Iceland than at waitrose for the same money, but you won't end up with one decent meal.

I can't see it and I don't blame them, it's not a lack of money we suffer from just look at the outlay we had last season, the problem is the players we ended up with and given the supposed targets this year I don't see what putting in more money would achieve if we're going to target and end up with the same calibre of players.

We need a marquee signing. A statement of intent, that player that's special and can win the game with a bit of magic. The type of player we should have targeted to replace Suarez and didn't. With the money we've had over the last 3 years or so we shouldn't have a squad lacking in such quality as we do, until we get the right people in to spend it, get a proper scouting network in place that extends beyond the Premiership and genuine ambition and imagination to compete for top talent then it would simply be a waste of resources.

I just don't believe that ambition exists at the club.
