Mudds is very much the dominant Mod. He did however demand I was big spoon.

I'm half expecting Rodgers to play all 10 outfield players out of position in one of the games coming up just to prove what a footballing genius he is.

its not just who is in the team, its like all the players have had their enthusiasm and flair rinsed from them.

no beef, no passion, not arsed. i wonder if the influence of the manager is having a draining effect of the group
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Seeing them against United, I think he may already have that on his roll of honour. No matter, we will keep getting embarrassed until our owners finally realise he isn't cut out for the big occasion.

You can be pretty sure that under Rodgers, we always dig ourselves into a hole. We will then start to climb out and get excited, and then we will fall right back into it as the pressure mounts and we realise we could actually achieve something.

It will repeat this season. We will start to get results. We will start to look better. At some point before he gets the boot. But then we will just get out played again as the pressure mounts and we crumble again.

It's frustrating. Failed to get over the line v Zenit, despite having loads of time left. Managed to lose against a Chelsea reserve side who came for a point to damage our title hopes. Managed to allow his team to blow a three goal lead to finally kill the title hopes.

Bottled it in Madrid. Failed to beat Basel at home after they'd given us chance after chance to make amends for bottling the other games in the Champions League group. Messed it up in Turkey.

Collapsed against United at home and Arsenal away after we'd given ourselves a chance of making the top 4. We were even odds on favourites for 4th before the game at Anfield. Oh, and bottled it over the two legs against Chelsea. Totally bottled it v Villa who were comprehensively swatted aside by Arsenal.

That's without going into embarrassing defeats against abject ****e such as West Ham & Stoke.

Brendan deserves a lot of blame for that. But do you think a tiny bit of the blame can also be apportioned to FSG. In the whatever complex statistical model they use to buy players, it seems they dont consider the variables corresponding to leadership and captaincy material. Milner appears to be the first buy in a long time with that characteristic.

In his initial years, Rafa's main buys oozed leadership and players who can stand up and be counted in a battle. In a big physical game, I would trust Luis "powderpuff (according to many at that time)" Garcia to stand up and be counted over 90% of the wimps we have bought in the last few years.

Not absolving Brendan of the blame but I think FSG's overfocus on latent value and talent has not helped as well.

                        Yes, absolutely. Good point.

However, there's also enough evidence to suggest we'd be firmly sitting in mediocrity if Rodgers had full control over transfers.

Think you'd see Fierce criticising the tactics and set up after the United match, so I don't think he's giving his undying support to Rodgers.
