Played Arbeloa at left back, Carra at right back and Gerrard as a right winger, sometimes playing Riera on the right and even played Dossena as a left winger and probably missing a lot more others. Didn't harm the team if players are tactically astute and if confidence is there. I think you exaggerate a little bit.

Also switching fullbacks side and winger different sides isnt uncommon and thats very different from switching a fullback into a wingback

There's a Partridge quote if ever I saw one. Never mind Hodgson. No wonder the players looks like they can't be bothered with him anymore. Imagine what they actually hear during his team talks and at Melwood? I bet we only hear a fraction of what he comes out with.

I don't have a problem witht the system and style Rodgers wants to play, the problem is he is spending a load of money on players that don't fit into the system he wants to play and tries to shoe horn players into the system by playing them out of position. We have no shape and look tactically inept. We have signed some decent players but not the players we need. We are unbalanced and the players, players who have done really well in other systems for other teams, look lost, lack confidence and are made sterile by Rodgers refusal to change the system to meet the stregnths of the squad he has built. He has to go and he as to go now his record is shocking.

Emre Can looks like he wants to take responsibility and prove himself, but most of the others are just hiding. We need the team to fight for one another and at present it's not happening. If we had one strong senior personality (like Gerrard or Carragher) in the team then they would be questioning the tactics and challenging the manager. We have too many mentally weak players.

I think I agree with that to an extent. Another mark against Rodgers is his total failure to build a team of leaders. Compared to Rafa who built teams where every player could wear the captain's armband. We have a load of bottlers. And I don't think Rodgers can actually see that.
