I will never fully understand why it's called the slip when the ball went under his foot before the slip happend. He wouldn't have caught Ba anyway, slip or no slip. Just an observation...

Can't agree with that. Ba was about 4m from him (OMG metric!!1!) when he slipped. Yes he miscontrolled and that got him into trouble, but it was recoverable; the subsequent slip is what made it a gift.

I've mentioned this before but I don't believe he is finished.

There's a couple of things though. Firstly he needs a long break, talking a month if not longer away from the club because he's ****ed. He's carried teams of multiple ******s for the best part of a decade now, we can't expect him to keep doing it.

Finally - he is being played out of position but we all knew that anyway. He needs to be as far up as possible, possibly even as part of a front two. He still has it in him to do this and influence games he's not dead yet but for now he needs taking out of the team completely and been given a breather.

No one is expecting him to carry the team, but he does nothing, players go around him like he's not there, and he too far from the final third to do anything useful there.

He should leave for everyones sake. And take his tenant with him.

He is the one player, if played in his more natural attacking role, who can be a key part in turning this round for us. I truly believe that, and there were far worse than him today (and all season).

Gerrard shouild be played further up. Rodgers has wasted gerrard IMO. He'd rather play him further back which is a waste.

He has played further forward and did just as he did in this current defensive role, **** all.

He needs to be dropped.

He wasn't ideal last season, and IMO his impact was overstated slightly due to his great numbers from pens, set pieces etc. But he did have a number of great games in terms of doing his job at the base of the midfield. Pretty much since, and I hate to say it, the slip, and then the World Cup in which he was ****, the arse has completely fallen out of his game. It's painful to watch, and the fact he remains exempt even from being subbed is bewildering.
