Regarding him leaving, if he goes abroad it's fine. Look at Raul joining Schalke, smoething like that is ideal.
Had a hand in every goal. I've only seen the highlights, and obviously his contribution wasn't too telling in the first, but he scored the second and had a big hand in the third, as well as going clean through & having what should have been a pen. If any player did that every game they'd be up there with Messi & Ronaldo. Not sure that's unremarkable myself.

But if that is unremarkable, what about all our other attacking players this season? How often are they scoring or creating?
    Forwards.......

Gerrard was fine further back when we had more effective players in front of him. Give him some runners to pass too & he'll find them. Gerrard isn't the player he was as a number ten. Back then he was one of the best players in the world & he's clearly not now. We definitely need someone better than him going forwards, but the players in our squad this season haven't done enough to deserve a place ahead of him.

I think he should stay as he still has the drive and leadership for younger players to learn from.

I think he influenced the game far more, being Mr Captain Fantastic. His body's becoming less reliable but he still covered all areas making defensive clearances and being on the end of forward passes.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for settling back in to a role he's not played for a couple of seasons. He's not the long term solution but his influence on the team is unparallelled and benefits us immensely

No doubt he looked more like the SG of old last night. And even more so after he scored.

It lifted the entire side, both in terms of spirit and weight of expectation. He needs to be able to get around the pitch and rally everyone, imo
