Gerrards own words, he's leaving cos the manager told him he'd have to manage his games. So what are we to do, carry on playing him in every game cos that's what he wants. That's why he retired from England. And he probably wants it to be in centre mid despite it never being his best position, even in his prime and certainly not now.

Not his greatest game, but scored a couple of gems and was always advanced in the last 30mins starting off a few attacks. Few hairy moments in our last third, which led to him having to clear an effort off the line from his own mistake. Probably give him another rest for the weekend and have the option of coming off the bench in an advanced role.
