We aren't going to agree on this, but IMO, Rafa was only interested in enhancing HIS reputation - his 'love' for the fans only became apparent after he started having difficulties with the owners - not a popular point of view after winning the CL I know, but that's what I think and I for one will not be glad to see him [apart from the stands] anywhere near Anfield.

So to enhance his reputation he moved to Liverpool and now calls it home. Come on. If he only said he loved the fans, then why does he still talk about us in glowing terms. Even when he was manager of Inter.

He is one of us. Ive got no doubts there.

He talks about not having money to spend at Inter but then you only have to look at the money he spent on Aquilani and Johnson..

He's fighting his corner is all, he get's more stick and accused of more things than most managers, and people constantly attempt to take credit away from him, despite the trophies he's won already in comparison to other managers who are lauded, he's bound to be a little defensive, christ..the stick he's had over Aquilani..in comparison to the stick certain managers got for say...a Veron is just pathetic, was Fergie a bit lucky in HIS euro final win ? Of course! he got it tactically wrong ALL game imo, then threw caution to the wind as time ran out, does anyone say that OVER AND OVER...NO!

I hated those defensive tactics in 2009, when Liverpool scored 104 goals. Boring! And good shout on the problems he had relating to players. Imagine Ferguson falling out with Jaap Stam, David Beckham or Paul Ince. It would never happen, he's too nice a guy. Luckily, the players Benitez fell out with eventually got their way, with Hodgson appointed and a return to the glory years.
