Redknapp will do alright. He's a cockney innit.

Rafa supposed to be in Abu Dhabi for 10 days, been there 2, and is now on a plane to London apparently.

        From the BBC website:

"The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first-team manager," a statement said.

Owner Roman Abramovich has made contact with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez to gauge his interest in taking charge at Chelsea on a short-term basis.

The club's Russian owner made contact with Benitez even before the defeat in Italy as he assessed his options.

They should have never employed him in the first place, way out of his depth.

If Rafa goes there, he will build a top team with the millions.

With the turmoil at Chelsea, both 3rd & 4th spot are up for grabs.

I really really think it's Rafa, the russian has decided not to give up on his 50mill blue eyed boy investement, and sees Rafa as the man to revitalise him.

              We'll see.

Hope not, but i just have a feeling it'll happen.

It would be nice if Rafa went in there, went spending mad, demanded (and got) a 5 year contract, then got sacked by late Feb. Meaning they were screwed over for FFP. Agent Benitez could then return to Dubai and resume the conference.

I still don't think he was doing that badly. There was clearly an attempt to change radically the way they played and it was taking time. Very few managers would have done a vastly superior job IMO. If you want to make such changes you need to have patience. He's not in the class of Rafa, Mourinho or Fergie but I think people are unduly harsh on him.

I couldn't hold it against him if he took this job, he deserves a shot at winning a league title.

He held out for us and wasn't even considered - thats not his fault, and he can't sit about hoping to get another call from whoever might be in charge of manager recruitment at LFC at some point in the future.

If he joins Chelsea, he joins them. I wish him well wherever he goes.

Yeah, I wouldn't hold it against him as well. He would come back here in a shot but it's not gonna happen unfortunately and Chelsea is a massive club (even if they're cunts).

If he does it his way, changes their mindset etc, then all good me thinks.

I would laugh my head off if Terry is appointed.
