Goretzka may be young but I would see him as an instant upgrade on any from Can, Wijnaldum or Henderson.
He knows how the get stuck in too. Only danger with him is that he is a bit like a more physical version of Keita in some ways, and loves to play in a box to box style.
Cracking player though.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Agree entirely. Unless he can shake off that lazy aspect to his play he will always struggle to fulfil that potential in the hustle and bustle of the premier league, but he could be tailor-made for Italy. Maybe that's what he's thinking himself with Juve interested?Originally posted by Nicey View PostHe is obviously gone, he has never really nailed down his place here and even though he shows glimpses of brilliance he also has a lot of lazy play in his game. Seems like all our central midfielders have problems playing in the Premier league. Lazy bar stewards the lot of 'em

It also gives him the upper hand in negotiations or he leaves for free. We’d loose a player with a realistic value of £25m in today’s market so we could afford to pay him a bit more than we think he’s worth surelyOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostI reckon he's a goner. He'd have signed by now, surely.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

With Can all that's stopping him is that he switches off in games too often, and is a bit lazy in his running at times. You couldn't call Wijnaldum or Henderson lazy...they have other "issues".

quite right, destroy him. drive him like we stole him.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostNo rests for Emre, we need to run him into the ground while we still have him.
save henderson, milner and wijnaldum so we can get a good fee for them at the end of the year.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Can is hit and miss, talented not doubts but so inconsistent. He really started off the season well and I thought this is the player we have been waiting to see but he has reverted to type. Said few seasons ago I thought he would be perfect for Serie A, still have that opinion and he might do a Pogba over there. Losing him on a free is gutting but i'm not really bothered to be honest as we need to address the balance in the midfield anyways.

So we'll buy him back in a few years for around £100mOriginally posted by danperkins View PostCan is hit and miss, talented not doubts but so inconsistent. We're not letting him go as we did with Alonso. He'd got months left on his contract, few players sign with that left before a bug pay day. He's better than Wijnaldum ever will be but we'll lose better players than him.Originally posted by Tee View PostCan scenario just brings back some memories of Rafa and Alonso....think we could really regret it if we let him go, especially if we stick with the likes of Henderson
