A lot of positive articles about him today........oddly citing the "new, tireless Luis Suarez". Sure he's sacrificed himself a bit for Messi and Neymar but one thing he's always been is tireless and selfless.

LOL, not wanting to reopen that sorry episode but the whole point of the word 'negrito' in Latin culture is it can be, and is, used with anyone of any color as a nickname. It's not a reference to skin color.

Almost every game of football I play I hear someone shouting 'negrito' to call for the ball from one of their team mates but I don't think I've played against a single black player here.

The other one that I hear in every game is 'gordito' or 'fatty'. Mind you, unlike 'Negrito' I think those with the nickname 'Gordito' are general fat lol. Mexicans definitely aren't fattists though, I think Mexico is one of the most obese countries in the world so maybe it's just coincidence that everyone with the nickname 'Gordito' happens to be fat.

I'm not ignorant to that, but it's not relevant at all. He never claimed to have used that word, nor did anyone else.

He used the Spanish word negro, hence the relevance to the FA's rather unusually worded rule.

Odd watching him play last night - he doesn't play in that exciting perpetual motion style anymore, his movement is much more subtle. He obviously banged in two goals so it works like but he's gone from yelling at Sturridge etc to apologising to Messi for being offside half the time.
