Lille were pants, did you ever watch them? Safety first, dull stuff for most of the season. He also got made a scapegoat for that form to my mind esp when in January he (foolishly) expressed his eagerness to join Liverpool.

But maybe he was playing in a poor, defensive team and had his mind elsewhere.

I don't watch French football at all but just kept an eye on their results. He did well the season before so something changed seemingly. Oh well he's ours now so let's hope he hits the ground running & goes from strength to strength.

The 2013/14 season was decent for him but he only scored 5 goals then and followed that 8 in last season but he added 3 assists as well. He has decent chance creation and key passes, but IMO he needs games, hope he'll get them or we get him a good loan.

Unless we get some big name striker in I can't imagine him going out on loan till Xmas at the earliest if at all. I fully expect Balo, Borini & Lambert to be gone before the window shuts.

Even allowing for the opponents and the dreadful conditions he was playing in for the second half its clear that Origi is the only Belgian striker Liverpool needs and that buying Reus or Pedro with the Sterling money would make more sense!

Its odd. I thought we might have seen him for the odd cameo. Same with Ings. But I guess early the manager needs to use the players he trusts.

Id keep him, as its a long season. One that will soon involve a ton of annoying Europa league and league cup games. Both of those will be the main strikers for that I think. Doubt players like Benteke, Firmino, Coutinho or Henderson will play there. So others will be needed.

Think about who our forwards are now. Ings, Origi, Sturridge and Benteke. Borini will be go and Balotelli has gone. So I think a loan at this point would probably weaken us.

I am assuming Origi and Ings would have had a few more minutes if we had been in more comfortable positions or if we had been behind in games and were inn need of goals. The three games we have had our subs have either been used to freshen up players in midfield or to introduce the likes of Firmino. I expect both Ings and Origi to be involved in the League cup and Europa league and will get more game time when the first teamers at up to speed and able to play full 90 mins regularly.
