Because 17m euros is £13.3m in pound Sterling. I think that's an OK price for a player like him.
it's more the extra 6million Euros for a player who is ours anyway that's poor Transfer negotiations.

well unless they wanted 20million Euros to sign him last season straight away, Maybe we got him a little cheaper as we loaned him back there for the season? if so 6million Euro is not to bad.

not good either,if we own the player we should NOT have to pay any kind of fee

We could well pay that with whatever we get for Borini

Not really, for the rest of this season he's under no pressure to score many/any goals. He's just basically got to find his feet and not turn into a Balotelli. Hardly heaping tons of pressure on him there.

There will be a very small element, coughMarkoviccough, who will have a go at him. Obviously. But nothing you can do about that.

Let's pay extra on a player who is being booed by his clubs fans, and hasn't scored since september/october.

                  It's a no brainier really.

We desperately need another striker in there as proved by Raheem playing up top. And whilst he isn't the best finisher, he's no worse than Raheem and offers the same pace but increased physical presence.

If everyone's fit he may not play as many games as we would think.... But as he's not exactly developing at Lille atm, that kind of point is irrelevant.

As for the £6m fee. We need a striker to assist in getting into the CL. if we made that with his help, it's chicken feed. That sort of fee is nothing in comparison to loan fees and wages United paid for Falcao.

Worst case scenario, he gets 6 months at the club to hit the ground running in pre season and be bang on top for next year.
                  Forwards.......

That's silly. In the real world a contract is in place that we would be looking to break, therefore that would normally result in financial compensation to the wronged party. Lille will be left without a striker they had planned to have until may and will need replacing. I'm sure we weren't expecting to be in this position where by we needed to bring him back, but its where we find ourselves. No point spending more on another player in Jan that will be surplus to requirements come august.

I appreciate on the face of it, paying more for a player you already own sounds wrong but when you really look at it properly, its a no brainer. No one should really have an issue with this. Not one person.

we should give them mario for the six months, with us paying marios wages over what lille would pay divock [great name, btw ]

                        win/win.

we get to integrate our new boy a bit earlier and he can contribute something.

we also make it clear to balotelli to get his agent on the case to sort out a move pronto.

Exclusive: Liverpool FC set to reach Divock Origi agreement this month

Liverpool FC look set to reach an agreement with Lille to bring striker Divock Origi to Anfield this month.

The Reds signed the young Belgian frontman for £10million last summer but under the terms of the transfer they sent him back to the French outfit on a season-long loan.

However, with Brendan Rodgers ' side in desperate need of more firepower in the second half of the campaign Liverpool have sought to move forward his arrival.

The Reds are prepared to pay up to £3million to secure Origi's services six months earlier than planned.

No deal is yet in place with Lille but the initial discussions have been encouraging and Anfield officials are confident they will reach a successful conclusion.

Origi is desperate to begin his Liverpool career after enduring a torrid campaign in France.

Lille are struggling in 13th place in Ligue One and the 19-year-old, who has scored four goals this season, hasn't found the net since October.

He was even booed by his own fans after missing a penalty against Wolfsburg last month.

Rodgers recently revealed that he was in regular contact with Origi and that Liverpool staff analyse each of his matches in France and provided feedback.

“We believe Divock Origi will be world class,” Rodgers said.

“He is a top player. He has everything - the speed, the profile and he could play for Liverpool now.

“He can run in behind, he can keep the ball and he can press.”

Origi would give Rodgers another attacking option as he looks to mastermind a push for Champions League qualification over the coming months.

Liverpool have been short of firepower in the continued absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge.

Fellow strikers Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini don't have a single league goal between them and face uncertain futures.

Sturridge, who hasn't played for the Reds since August, will return to Melwood this week to complete his rehabilitation from a thigh injury after having treatment in America.

Liverpool hope he will be fit to play against his former club Chelsea in the two-legged Capital One Cup semi-final later this month.

Personally think we should leave him there but if he comes it probably ends speculation of another striker coming in even if Borini leaves imo.
