It’s a much better solution because it was too risky during a quick transition for him to get back to RB where the distance is greater. Better to have them hold a 4 in whichever combo and swap back when play allows for it.

That’s total football at it’s finest.

I was at my wits end with him at Newcastle last week. Had had enough of him. Then he goes and plays like that a week later and I was creaming my pants ....football eh.

What we're doing with Trent seems like we need the right balance of players around him. Yesterday he was an absolute beast.

TBF to him the second half vs Newcastle he was much improved but the first half was such a car crash.

Villa weren't deep at all, they played a highline esp first half hence the numerous balls over the top.

We played well but i think they made it easy. Look forward to a sterner test to see how the team is really developing.

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold will only be out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury, reports claim. The 24-year-old has pulled out of the England squad but his absence isn't set to have a big impact on his club appearances.

It explains Nunez's start - deeper lying teams will be a choice of Diaz, Jota and Gakpo up front I reckon.

Yeah Jota for one excels closer to goal with his quick feet & poachers instincts.

It means we'd need to be more wary of counter attacks though.

Well the shirt is Gomez's to lose imo.

It felt like the Trent of last season decided to turn up today - petulant, easy to run past and lacking in effort. Of course ye hit some worldie passes but when he plays like he did today then he’s a liability, especially when his first thought is to sprint into midfield to facilitate this inverted bull**** nonsense

Trent's decided he wants to be Szoboszlai.

Meanwhile we've just signed actual Szoboszlai and now we need to sign a new starting right back?
