He is a total Real fan boy, with a fake posh accent. He seems to have a genuine dislike for the club and never misses a chance to stick the boot in and any praise is through gritted teeth.

No doubt TNT will roll him out for the Real game next week at Anfield and he will say something along the lines of “how can Trent resist Madrid, the best club in the world?”

Yeah that affected accent thing is a great way to notice a prick.

Know a few people that originally grew up in not so great areas and now speak with the fakest American/Irish/London hybrid accents you could imagine and to a person they are all pricks too.

Another thing that annoyed me with McManaman was his denial of where he was from in a interview some years back. Someone asked him about being from Bootle and he corrected them by saying he came from Merseyside. Now technically he is not wrong but the way he said it came across as quite snobbish.

I work in a call centre without any issues but people cant understand me half the time when speaking normally.

How are they any different to what TAA is doing?

He's holding the club (his boyhood club that he loves, yada yada yada...) to ransom for a ridiculous contract or is going to leave for free, when truth is he's worth an absolute ****load of money. Instead, we get nothing or need to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a RB.

He's worse than those two in my eyes if he leaves. We at least got some money for Owen and don't think Macca was anywhere near their level and was tailing off performance wise anyway (and he was one of my favourite players from that era!)

No doubt of his ongoing contribution of defence splitting passes etc. I just feel his overall contribution is past its best and he may well have begun a premature decline.
I'd question the sense in offering him a massive contract.

Why? We've got more than value out of him.

We're not loyal to players when they get ****, why should they not push for the best offer they can get whilst they're not ****?

Leaving on a free transfer from your "boyhood" club when you're worth a fortune is an absolute prick move IMO. If he wanted to go get mega bucks in Spain then fine, but don't string it out like he has done and then end up leaving on a free. (its also not like's he's not already earning more money than he'd know what to do with here either btw)

See Henderson, Milner, Ox, Lallana, Robbo et al from recent memory. We're nowhere near as cut-throat as other clubs.
