Curiously I see some mention Lallana, if you review the Lallana thread there are similar posts about him not being good enough, waste of money etc.
Interesting indeed. From a very small sample size:

That money could have been used for a new CB and added to the 'war chest' for Lemar.

Arsenal fans laughing at us also.

He'd then come back in, play **** under the excuse of needing time to get fit, rinse and repeat, his stock grew further when the rest of the team were playing **** but he was at least seen to be trying.

    Bang average player.

Klopp said he's a long term project. Based on what I've seen so far I hope it's long term with the U23s. Like the next two seasons and then quietly send him back to Arsenal.

I don't care we spent 35mill on him, rather than wait 9 months & get him free (i think he was bought to appease Klopp/fans tbh); but i am concerned that he isn't a good fit.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'll hang off on calling him Poxdale Chamberlain for awhile but he must improve on both his cameos and that nightmare debut.

Personally I never seen him as a first team player, more of a good squaddie player. He was never anything special at Arsenal if everyone is honest. The fee was well over the top but that's modern football for you, well the prem anyways but even a fully fit and firing Ox in my opinion won't get ahead of most of our current first teamers in the positions he wants to play.

In saying that, him playing a few mins here and there will do nothing for him or us. It's early days and he has time to improve and learn our ways. To be honest, I didn't really care if we signed him or not in the end as I thought we were getting that prick Lemar but hopefully Ox can push on and prove a good purchase for us... we need all the help we can get ffs.

                  the ox!?

I fear this signing is going to become the focus point on where people start to point the finger on where Klopp/the club have started to go wrong and it could end up being made into an Andy Carroll scale of **** ups.

£40m on a player that doesn't get a look in, in a team that is all over the shop, and he's not the answer to any of our problems.....And we has he featured he's hardly covered himself in glory yet.

Think we'll start to see a lot more people complaining about this signing and why wasn't the money spent on a keeper/cb/cm - if klopp doesn't start to turn things round then this signing will come under some stick and after a year or so we'll end up selling him to middle to bottom half club for about £15m

It is a signing that so far makes absolutely no sense considering the other glaring issues that were ignored or not addressed. Now couple that with him not getting a look in & the signing seems totally baffling.

I could forgive it if he'd come in and had a salah type impact....

but i'd say his best position (imo) would be as a pacy wide attacker - so whilst agree cover there is good to have - but given his performances and game time so far there is an argument that basically Markovic or keeping Origi would have offered the same and we'd have saved £40m to spend elsewhere.

the more we struggle for form and he doesn't contribute - the more and more questions will be asked.

I always thought he was a decent player nothing more to be honest, looked great when he burst on the scene but hasn't been up to much since. The price tag is insane but we just really didn't him did we? The funny thing is he thought he was coming here to play in his favoured position on centre mid.

His cameos have been pretty embarrassing but even if he turns out to be a good buy in the long run, we still didn't really need him. I just don't get it.

He was a panic last minute recruitment for appeasement. We had Lallana injured so were looking for a midfielder. But he was never signed over a CB.

We should have waited a year, IMO. I think he'll be a good signing and add needed depth but it's wierd that he's deemed worse than Wijnaldum.

He was definitely an appeasement signing & it has backfired (so far), i don't see where he fits in for a £40mill signing.

Had he been a sub £20mill signing, not as much would have been made about him; but at 40mill 'even in this day & age' you want someone who can add a bit of wow to your team. The ox never will.

How was he panic buy when we were linked to him all summer? It was no surprise when he signed - the only reason it was so late in the window was for Arsenal to save face about losing a player they rated highly enough to offer 180k a week. He hasn't been great so far, but then neither has anyone else.

It was seems like an intentioned plan to get him that late in the window, probably at Arsenal's insistence.
