Maybe, but its easier to make that decision when you're not confident about scoring yourself

I don’t buy the Salah thing to that level. Any CF worth their salt is taking that one on. I think he is caught in 2 minds too often which is a confidence / lack of minutes / both thing.
This isn’t a call to arms for all his close fam etc btw. I genuinely wanted him to score - was watching with my son and he will vouch for me.

Gakpo did the same tbf. Passed to Salah when it was easier to score.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI don’t buy the Salah thing to that level. Any CF worth their salt is taking that one on. I think he is caught in 2 minds too often which is a confidence / lack of minutes / both thing.

Yeah - Again, I think that was abysmal play. And an even worse decision - Gakpo had a tap in. Good that they want to be top team mate etc but I can’t see this approach working out for them.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostGakpo did the same tbf. Passed to Salah when it was easier to score.
Am sure it will be flagged when they finally debrief on the game.Modifying post.

I don't think Gakpo was caught in two minds though. That was definitely him making a decision to try and get Salah a goal rather than another for himself.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostYeah - Again, I think that was abysmal play. I think it's fine considering the game state at that point..

Darwin is absolutely not our worst signing ever (crap he gets piled on is ridiculous and unfairfully disproportionate)...far from it..but it's best for him confidence and mentally wise (for his sake) to move on to another club...
Hopefully Hughes/Edwards et al are working behind the scenes to make it happen...

I’m sure he will be gone to the highest bidder this summer.Originally posted by Myo View PostDarwin is absolutely not our worst signing ever (crap he gets piled on is ridiculous and unfairfully disproportionate)...far from it..but it's best for him confidence and mentally wise (for his sake) to move on to another club...

And totally agree he’s far from our worst signing. Doesn’t fit our needs & his confidence is completely gone so best to part ways now.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Opinions like this are the crux of my frustration with people.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt would have been great for him and us if he had got the goal when he was through yesterday. The cherry on top moment. Him deciding to square the ball when it wasn’t really on probably sums up his mind set.
He delivered big time this season with those 2 late goals v Brentford. I guess we all - including Darwin - hoped for more similar moments.
Saying the square ball wasn't on when it clearly was - he just hit it too hard and Mo couldn't get to it. The pass was clearly on though. In fact those types of goals seem to be our bread and butter under Slot and it clearly looks like an instruction. How many goals have we scored this season from squared balls to an onrushing player at the back post...
Then on the other hand, if he goes for the shot and say the keeper saves it, or he misses the target, hits the post etc etc people will then start hammering him for not squaring it to Mo.
Dude can never win no matter what he does now. People made their minds up on him and are so blinkered that all sensibility goes out the window."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

It’s not about being blinkered. It just would have been good for him to score and be even more of a pretty special day.Originally posted by Harv View PostOpinions like this are the crux of my frustration with people.

Either way, take the shot and keep it on target or play the assist accurately. Don’t do neither. He hasn’t had many minutes though so the ‘rust’ probably to be expected. You could feel the buzz from the stands when he went through on goal and it wasn’t for him to square the ball to Salah!Last edited by Buzzo; 29-04-25, 08:02 AM.Modifying post.

Rusty from hardly being used for months and devoid of any confidence. You're looking at a player who's basically at rock bottom really.
He'll be going at the end of the season and the hounds can sink their teeth into a new whipping boy with him gone and Gravenberch turning into a beast."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

I could see him tearing it up in France, possible Germany. I hope he doesn’t go to Saudi (other than it would be a sweet transfer fee). Even staying in the Prem say at a Newcastle or Spurs.
He is a Liverpool League title winner, and he can look back at some pretty solid contributions - specifically a pivotal late double at Brentford which I think was the same weekend Arsenal lost to West Ham and was definitely a moment when we realised the title was ours.Modifying post.

I've stuck up for nunez as much as anyone, even you. But the thing with this is, he could have "won" if he'd either played the straightforward pass accurately or tucked it away. It's not the he can't win because whatever he does people will give him pelters (even though some will) it's that he seems to have a knack for doing the thing poorly. Whether that's down to rust or something else is another matter.Originally posted by Harv View PostOpinions like this are the crux of my frustration with people.

I think that was the weekend they drew with Villa after going 2-0 up or something.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI could see him tearing it up in France, possible Germany.
