Good work - keep it up, remember the importance of rest days, to help you rebuild.
On course for my highest ever mileage so long as I do my weekend runs. Managed to fit in two speed sessions with my other runs. A 8.5 mile fartlek and a short progression run (3 miles) starting at 9:00 and getting 30 seconds faster every half mile down to 6:30 pace - hate progression runs, destroy me more than any other.
Total for 2017:
125.77 miles @ 8:04 /mi avg

Total for 2017:
98.97 miles @ 8:05 /mi average
Finally got round to running on a treadmill today. It was woeful, managed to crawl over the 5k mark in 32mins. It can only get better. Weight is still coming off nicely though, should be under 83kg by tomorrow morning

Thanks, I'm the wrong side of 20Originally posted by Norbs View PostThat's really good speed, what age are you? I'm just ending the second week on Atkins and without any booze. I've lost 4kg and am hoping to shift another 2kg this week. Going to start running on the treadmill next week I promise

I put a lot of weight on since I was at my best - 13st were my best times and within a few months due to lower mileage and plantar fasciitis, I'd put on over 1.5 stone of fat, absolutely killed my times. I read an article about how every pound of fat added to you weight slows down your mile time by 2 seconds, so that's over 42 seconds per mile for me.
Managed 37.4 miles in total this week @ 7:59 min/mi average. Injecting a little a speed into my long runs - use half mile auto lap splits - 0.5 miles easy followed by 0.5 fast. feels good.

Just weighed myself at 88.3kg and have started Atkins for 3 weeks to get kicked started to try and reach my 80kg goal.
They won't recognise me at the gym

I need to try and bash in 100 miles before the 25th to keep on target for the year and this week hasn't been productive in that regard. If I can drag my arse out for 10 miles I'll have managed 25 for the week so that leaves me with no room for slouching next week. Aim for the year is an injury free one (or at least minimal injury) while I try to get my half time back under 1:40. Sheeeeee it.
I'm experimenting with superfeet insoles at the minute. The plantar fascitis seems less of a mutha****er with them so here's hoping.
