As I have said previously Carroll lives not far from me, I know he regularly goes in a couple of the local restaurants. My family and my parents and brother are all in those restaurants on a regular basis and we know the owners VERY well

Everytime I've seen him or one of my family have hes been eating pasta and drinking water and when I've asked the owners about him they have said the same hes in there often but seems to be following the footballers diet

I also havent heard any rumours knocking round about him drinking heavily locally and believe me if he was doing that my mum would know as she makes MI5 look like a boy scout troop when it comes to information gathering

Now that doesnt rule out him going into central Liverpool and living it up but the rumours of him being lashed up most nights seem to have died down (after a hectic summer)

A mate of my mate, met him a few times sells cars to a load of the premiership players and most of them based in the north/north east......He told me Andy is actually a really nice bloke to deal with, a bit quiet and very much a local lad done good. He wondered how going from 25k a week to 80k a week would effect with the move away. One thing for sure is he is not the pisshead he is made out to be, just hung out with the wrong crowd back home, Maybe he is missing them?

Think we have another Fowler on our hands in that he never wanted to leave his local club and not sure he has the same desire as he did in that toon shirt.

Just seen Gary Neville's analysis on our game vs Stoke and the manc rat is spot on in what he says.

If you watch the sitter Kuyt missed, you'll see that Dirk has a free header and tonnes of space - why? Because Andy Carroll's presence in the danger zone takes both defenders with him, and leaves Dirk free. That's what Carroll can do, even if you think he's a donkey and cant hit a cow's arse - defenders are scared of him, they are so focused on stopping him that they over compensate, allowing space for others.

Say what you will about Carroll, but even if he doesnt score, his sheer presence on the field gives us an advantage of sorts.

A top centre forward offers more than just being a decoy or an outlet for other players though. We used to say similair about Heskey when we all knew he was a bag of ****e.

Well put it whichever way you want to. Carroll's not having a good time of things for sure, but he isnt without value and considering we have Suarez banned and Bellamy not able to play every game, to not start Carroll is ludicrous.

Fact is, his presence will lead to chances/goals. Whether he scores them or not, he will be contributing something positive.
