Which is right ... and let's face it, we could say West Ham have paid for it with their initial loan fee or the £2m they give us when (or if) he meets certain targets.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostIsn't it normal to pay off players leaving at the clubs request?
£15.4m for Carroll.
£2m (?) for the loan.
£2m in potential extras.
It could have been *a lot* worse.

I think the tone of the article is that it was £1m more than we originally had agreed to settle on with Carroll. He'd be due a portion of the fee, as stipulated by his contract termination rights. What that is, God knows ? But the story is that we squeezed a little more of the overall transfer fee from WH in order to finagle Carroll agreeing to move.Originally posted by cream View PostOnly £1m, that's pretty good on our part.
Nothing earth-shattering if true, just best to get it over with and allow Brendan to move forward with other priorities."I will make the boys feel your support"

But as a professional paid about £100k a week he's a bit of a joke.
He's just a regular bloke really (apart from the millions
) and doesn't seem to give a **** about anything.
Which is probably a massive factor in him never making it as a top player.
I'd love to go out on the piss with him.
