This may be opening a can of worms, but is Downing better on the right side?

Not a can of worms, he's better on the right. He comes inside and links up other players, as well as having the option getting to the by line and putting in a couple of crosses. Doesn't do enough as a pure winger, therefore needs to play on the right.

I thought it was opening a can of worms because earlier in the season people were getting annoyed that he was being swapped from left to right for about15-20mins a game.

well it depends who he is switching with. i dislike it when kuyt/henderson ends up on the left as they really cant do much from there

The critisism as I remember it wasn't about who he was swapping with but about how effective or ineffective he (Downing) was on the right compared to the left.

What is the point in Stewart ****ing Downing? I have lost count how many times he has received the ball this half and not crossed it or taken a man on. Pathetic. He just keeps laying it off to Johnson time and time again. £20million my ****ing arse.

I think the saddest thing is, he is the player many of us thought we were signing.
All except for Kenny and Comolli anyway. He'll still get the support he needs, but he needs to play his ****ing part at some stage.
