Jesus wept, will someone take take the bull by the horns and lock these friggin Owen threads, it just creates division when there's no need for it, by all means post interesting info if any links link him back to us etc, but he's moved on - we should too.

With all due respect, why should the threads be locked, just because some people are bored with the topic?

Those who dont want to discuss it, ignore the threads. Those who do, can participate.

Why should the thread be locked?

Only reason this thread should be locked is if it turns into a bitchfest.

Oh no! Even threads about locking Owen threads causes division. Is there no end to the madness?
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Have the one single thread open, simple.

Multiple threads on the same subject with the same argument over the same ground with the same posters on their respective side of the fence are boring.

well I remember being there and I still have my ticket stub. Sorry, it wasn't me or I was misquoted.
I've been talking about missing out on a ticket for Athens recently, if that was it?
Perhaps if you can dig up the thread.

Lets face it. He only ever wanted to play for England.

I've never got any sense that Owen was desperate to come back here. I reckon he'd happily go to Man U if an offer came in for him.

Fowler was always desperate to come back, but Owen, for me, is an England player before anything else in his own mind.

I'm sure he's a good player still, but I don't see any great eagerness on his part to come back here.

I really think we should only buy players who are really keen to play for the club. He's shown twice that he's not that keen. Once when he left and once when he didn't come back.

His people seem to planting stories in the press that he'd have no objection going to Man U either.

Besides, anyone who left Newcastle now after sitting on their injury bench picking up loads of money for the best part of 2 years would reveal a huge lack of integrity in my book.

I'm just not keen. Not for the way he is on the pitch but because I increasingly get the sense that he's a bit of a mercenary out solely for his own ends. If he leaves Newcastle then that would confirm it. If Man U would be an option he's open to then that would underline it.

Therefore it follows that I do not support Liverpool, and in fact I only contribute to this site because of the huge sums of money I am paid by AnfieldForever and PaulS. If I ever stop contributing to this site it follows that I have been offered a lot more money to post elsewhere because I am a money-grabbing sh1t without an honest bone in my body.

Oh yeah, I'm not going to Athens either, I have not tried to move my work scheduled for that week and I am going to watch the game at home with my children. Proof that I don't care at all.

                                FACT.
