    Oh the irony
can you believe it - they want us to pay £5k each and then come across as a bunch of gipsy builders.

I am so pissed off with these guys already - you want someone to come in and talk sense and promise to rescue our club and the fekkin cheapo site they botched together doesnt work.

    I give up

Same goes for all the other moronic foreign owners in the prem. Even Chelsea had a ten year plan to break even and then make money!
I agree that thing like merchandising can be greatly improved (anyone who has used the club shop can see that) but I do remember reading that only one or two premiership clubs make a profit most make a loss - now I've no idea how much owners/shareholders take out and if this money was put back into the club if they would become profitable.

I guess the problem for me is that I know nothing of the finances of the club or football in general which I guess is what is needed to know if this idea would work.

The difference between us and Barca/Real/whoever is that their fans initially didnt have to buy out the club for 100s of millions

i don't see anyone on here with any better ideas. I get the impression that a few of us don't want this to work.

I hope they sort their **** out, humble beginnings and all that.

And i'd much rather see a stand named after, i don't know morgan for instance, than have my season ticket double in price ala man utd.

The web servers probably got so many hits in such a short space it started crunching them and I imagine the other companies who are hosted by that hosting company weren't too happy.

I for one will reserve judgement on them until I see more details on the scheme, although I am glad their specialised knowledge isn't website building and design. To be honest if we want an ownership scheme with fanfares, bells, whistles and slick presentations at the start then we already have that.

Agreed. One thing the site falling over tells us is that this has generated huge interest. They've obviously exceeded their monthly traffic allowance thingy in the space of a few mins

Biggest problem for me is that I don't know how much the Yanks are looking to sell the club for. Eveything has its price.

I'm at work and missed/missing the press conference. How do they hope to actually gather the required money it's self. It's alright x amount of people saying 'I'll contribute £xxx' but when would the money need to be in place and what if G&H turn round and say 'No, we won't sell'?

                        true.

im letting off a bit of steam - i really do want this to work because in represents the best deal for the club.

better than DIC or Kraft or any other investor - because ultimately investors want their money back and some.

Im behind them - lets get our club back

Well from what Hicks was saying (If you believe him is another issue) but it seems he's only likely to sell for stupid money, now to us £500m is stupid money considering they paid ~£200m a year ago, but if he believes he could sell in a few years for £1billion it might take alot of fan pressure/boycots to force him to sell.

Agreed, but if we raise the cash I'm sure that the fans would happily skip the games to force the issue, leaving them ****ed.

Because it's Liverpool football club and its all yours.

I agree the getting the money is the biggest hurdle, if that can be sorted mobilising the fans to try and force Hicks and Gillett out would be the "easy" bit
