for all we know roy could win us the league.
Oh come on. You clearly have a different opinion but don't insult us both by pretending you aren't fully aware of the arguments. Look in any LFC thread in the last week and you can read them over and over and over again.

As for Hodgson winning the league, it's possible. It's also possible he will never win another match, that I will f*ck Sarah Palin and that you will become the Archbishop of Canterbury and lead the Anglican Communion into a rapprochement with other sects and other faiths, so ushering in a new age of religious tolerance and spiritual harmony.

That's the thing about the future, there are plenty of things that aren't absolutely impossible and so could happen.

    But they won't. And you won't. And I won't.

    And he won't.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

i'll leave it at this . . . . . . IMO roy will get it right. all bull **** and wind ups apart i think we have shown signs of getting better and there is no reason why we wont gel as a team and finish top 4.

please please please have some faith in your team and your manager.

It's a fair comparison. You're both in virtually identical positions at the time that comment is made.

I would be delighted to read of these apparent improvements.

rafa garaunteed top 4 and no one on here laughed at that. it was a general feeling that he had every right to say it . . . . .so do i. i beleive roy will get us top 4. no reason why he shouldnt. with the hardest of starts to a season, a new team, new tactics, new personnel it was always going to be hard but please have faith.

oh aye, babel will be world class
We weren't fifth from bottom when Rafa said what he said.

            "Rafa ****ed it"

I can't be arsed debating this properly - for a start it's lunacy and it's been done to death. You're entitled to your delusions.

It's not. He is and was clearly a very good manager, he had a very effective set up that enabled us to challenge. But he did piss away points unnecessarily, which is why it was even more annoying. He did the 80% and got the 20% wrong. Mainly not making positive subs, or making bafflingly late subs. He was almost there, but his faults showed no signs of disappearing. Obviously, compared to Roy he seems like a genius

Unlike Hodgson who likes to say things like we will win some games we shouldn't win (like which) and lose some we should win. Rafa knew he was on his last legs due to crap owners and fans getting on his back for 1 (one) bad season. Now we have a manager that has no clue how to change a game or even pick a team.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

If Rafa was negative what does that make Hodgson

I've never see such a negative Liverpool side as we have put out so far this season and thats in 30 years of watching us

Its horrendous baseless football at its lowest level

Honestly so far Hogson has made Benitez look like Vicente Feola or Rinus Michels

                    Signs of getting better?

Faith has to be earned, he hasn't earned anything yet and he won't earn anything until he radically improves things.
                    Are we winning?

Fair enough then - I guess I was reading your post in the context of The Reverend's growing insanity.

I think most folk werent/arent blind to Rafa's flaws. I certainly wasnt and found him hugely frustrating at times, especially towards the end. That said I was gutted when he left as it was the wrong thing for the club IMO.

Once he left teh only way we could improve was by employing a manager of equal standing and ability. We havent done that.

What I find so intensely irritating is that all this was perfectly obvious back in May (and indeed earlier). Benitez got plenty of things wrong but he got a hell of a lot more right. It was also perfectly obvious back then that we were not going to get a new manager who would be an improvement overall. Quite the opposite.

And lo it came to pass...

Agreed. Just think, if this had happenned two seasons ago we might have ended up with Phil Brown.

We were never going to do that. There aren't that many of them around for a start, even fewer were actually available and precisely none of them would've taken the job with the constraints that Rafa had to work under.

McClaren and Allardyce were similarly flavour of the month at one time too.
