    Its true.

Rafa would hardly be mentioned if we brought in someone who was doing a half decent job...........

I respect many other managers out there and every manager should be given a fair chance to turn the club around as long as he respect us fans and the club.

      Roy deserves everything he gets.

Why is Roy probably the most hated manager in our history? Is it down to the results or that he behaves like an arrogant idiot.

Not sure I fully agree with this, but undoubtedly would help those of us that "mourn his passing" to heal and move on...especially if the ****ing media stopped deriding him too.

I don't want Hodgson to stay long term. I accept it may be reasonable for him to stay a while to help stabilise things at the club until NESV can make sure they are clear on what they want / where they are going and can appoint the right individual to fit with that.

I actually couldn't give a toss about what he says in interviews. I'm only really interested in what he does with the team and how they perform for him on the pitch. In that respect I have to admit things are looking better than they did at the start of the season, but that has to be qualified as they were dire.

I do think he has been unfortunate in that he's taken some backlash from the havoc caused by our previous owners and from the (mutually agreed) termination of Rafa. He was almost set-up for failure before he began.

It's too easy to jump on the bandwagon and slag him off for everything (and I'm guilty of it myself), I do think there is a serious lack of objectivity in the assessment of fans generally but especially those in Internet forums towards him.

As I write this I'm torn. I don't want him to stay long term but I have to recognise he isn't a bad person, he is genuinely trying to do his best for the club and in the grand scheme (and we'll only know when we look back) he may be playing a reasonably good holding role.

I totally disagree. I am not his biggest fan (never thought he was a right choice) but I was definitely willing to give him a chance as I would for any LFC manager but I cannot continue to tolerate ignorace, arogance and lack of ability that he imo so clearly exibits.

Everything he does is wrong from press and media to formations, tactics, fans, players etc.

This is not a beauty contest and we don't need to like him but we do need to respect him and believe into his capabilities to take us forward and frankly he isn't and he never was the right guy for the job.

Only difference is I could say "I told you so" when he was appointed but I have no moral satisfaction doing so I won't.

That said, I'm of the firm opinion he is getting what he deserves and he should go.

When they become old a fossilised you actually can. Not sure whether there's an analogy there with Roy.

Admitedly at the start of the season I was quite pleased with the appointment of Hodgson, I really did think he would be a breath of fresh air and personally I did not agree with some of the views of many of this site's members however I now see why so many did not agree with his appointment in the first place.

It's his overall negativity that's got me more than anything.

Considering he's managing one of the most successful club teams in British Football history and one of Europe's, if not the world's most successful clubs he HAS to be more positive and more confident, this I believe is down to his persona and the way he is. He feels that he's taking pressure off the players with his comments when in fact it is having the completley opposite effect.

We've all heard the cliche that confidence breeds confidence but it is completley true. It's about preparing everyone so they are mentally as well as physically confident, his talk most of the time has been of a very negative tone. I don't however believe though that Roy Hodgson is a naturally confident person, this is clearly visible by the way he constantly moves and shuffles in press conferences and interviews. He also talks negatively in the sense that he appears to carry no real self belief not just in himself but in those around him, the players, his staff and so forth and this ends up having an overall negative effect on everyone.

In his defence though and as has been pointed out already he is getting some decent performances of out some players; namely Lucas, Maxi (who we all thought was going to leave at the start of the season), Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Meirieles and Ngog to name a few. Torres has even been looking better of late as has Reina so some respect is due for these. He does deserve some credit for improving these players of late. Also these last few games we've attacked the opposition with more intent and purpose.

Personally though I do not believe he is the right man for this job, there is so much pressure being the Liverpool boss I am not surprised that he has struggled at times, also more important than anything has been our brand of football since he has arrived. It has been boring and horrible to watch and is not what we want to see week in week out.

That is my personal opinion on Roy Hodgson.
