With the burden of proof being much higher in a court of law, how is Terry going to be convicted? It is insane that Terry gets to go through a transparent procedure, with top class legal counsels to defend him.

Suarez ends up before a randomly selected trio of football people, with no such thing as "beyond reasonable doubt" and no real burden of proof, and he's hung out to dry. How is this fair?

Regarding the board, I read somewhere that we had the right to ask for the committee to change personnel but we chose not to. If it's true, then going down that path is a waste of time.

Saying that, we weren't expecting sucha one-sided outcome.

My thoughts:

I don't think we should be looking to compare the Terry case with the Suarez case. Each has its own individual circumstances and should be judged as such. For example, the defence and circumstances of each is different. Terry says that his comments are taken out of context as it was used in a wider context 'I didn't call you a ....'. Suarez' defence rested on the nuances of culture and language, and the fact that he himself was provoked in a manner relating to his background.

Whilst both cases relate to racism they are not linked. However, our beef with the punishment dished out to Suarez is that the individual circumstances were not taken into account and that the punishment appears to be linked to a wider poilitical issue.

The second point is this link to corruption which a few of you are making, albeit probably in frustration, to Manchester United and Ferguson. I find it frankly absurd that the Mancs have the FA in their pocket. It is simply a conspiracy too far. They have been punished plenty of times.

As I have stated above, I believe the scale of the punishment is political, and not due to corruption.
