Evra accuses Suarez of racism

Luis has freely and openly admitted from the very beginning of this farce that he did indeed use certain words to describe evra. he is not a stupid guy. he has lived in europe for 3-4 years and he will know what is acceptbale and what isnt. in light of this, he would have genuinely beielved what he said was not a racist term. whay base your whole defense around this otherwise? there was no witnesses or video / audio evidence and had he been worried about the case he could and almost certainly would have claimed to have said nothing to evra at all.

it simply put has to be fact that suarez has not maliciously or racial intended to insult evra.

There are some things we do not yet know. In particular, a key issue is whether the FA's decision is based on the words Luis has admitted using or words he has denied using (or maybe whether it is based on Luis using words, tone and nuance in a way that Luis does not accept he used them). If that is the case, the Club's argument that the FA has accepted Evra's word over Luis' comes into play.

But if there is no disagreement on that matter, I would not have thought it a strong defence to argue that Luis is not stupid and would not have intentionally racially abused Evra. (After all, he presumably knew that biting is not acceptable, but.....)

One of the things I've heared repeatedly today is that because he's spent a few years in Holland then he should have known this and that. Why should he know these expressions. We all absorb information in differing lengths of time. It is highly dubious to "assume" anything. I've met people who've lived in this country for years and have extremely limited English. To assume he should know the connotations of the European meaning of worlds like negro is speculative and suppositions like that should have no bearing on decisions of this importance.

i have added my bits from another forum;

evra said suarez called him a negro. is he or isnt he? he aint chinese, or pakistani, so what is he then. this planet is ****eded.
he actually admitted to calling evra "negrita" meaning little negro girl, so it was derogatory, but not racist. time for some of these players to grow a pair! evra was the only one to hear the remark, and evra has made racist accusations a couple of times before, both unproven. he's a ******er.

i am not trying to defend suarez just because he plays for my team, im saying evra is a ****. the burden of proof must be to prove his guilt. the only witness was evra, who has proven form for making false accusations!
A disgraceful verdict unless they produce undeniable/indefensible evidence that the accuser's claim was justified. I think this was a 'witch hunt' from the start.

john terry will be going to court, where the burden of proof will be having top prove his guilt. the fa hearing is only a 3 man panel. its a set up to try and embarass fifa. read the link. dont be biased and say, yeh, a liverpool journalist would say that...

someone said that evra should get a similar ban if he was found to be making false claims;
a very good point.
it makes me seethe when a black guy [is it still ok to say that?] uses the race card for any daft reason... i work on the door and get it all the time. some of the lads i work with who are black go nuts and tell them to **** off, and its not cos they're black, its cos they are being a knob. they end up belittling any genuine racial complaints.
maybe if evra got bitch slapped for trying to play the race card at every opportunity then it would do more for race relations in this country as many people feel that its one law for us and another for them [whoever "them" are].

suppose evra was chinese, and suarez called him a little chinese girl, would that be racist. if evra was white and suarez called him a little white girl of european origin, would that be racist...

to just refer to someones race isnt racist. to refer to their racial origin and do it in a derogatory way is racist.

so if there was a little chinese girl, and you called her a chinese girl, that would be ok then... i think so.
