Evra accuses Suarez of racism

I agree - to me hurling racist hate words at someone as part of a torrent of abuse is far worse than winding up someone because they reacted to words that sound a bit like racist hate words, which it seems that Suarez may have done. Suarez was chilidish or unsporting or unpleasant at worst, Terry is being investigated by the police for a criminal act, which seems appropriate to me.

Our statement about the appeal looks childish and misdirected. Has anyone apologised for any offence that may have been caused?
Suarez comes out of this looking no better than Terry and I feel Kenny has handled this badly.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

@ Bootroom - sorry man can't be bothered going back to find your post but my point was that an attempt at conciliation may have defused the situation regardless of how supposedly irate Evra was one way or the other. And I'm not sure you can use the words the words you don't believe Suarez used as an argument against my points about the club handling the situation badly.
My big concern about all this is that our approcah may have actually landed Suarez in more trouble than was actually going to come his way ( I kinda doubt this though as the FA had an agenda going into this but we certainly made it easier for them to really **** him/us over) but more importantly I worry that we went Billy Big Bollox at Utd and the FA in a catastrophically tribal and paranoid manner totally disregarding the fine arguments of dealing with racism. We ranted about being the put-upon good guys without actually showing how we were the good guys.
If of course it hasn't come out yet that we did try and find some sort of solution between the players then some but not all of what I'm saying is wrong. Look at the difference the two possible answers to this potential question makes:
"Did LFC at any point make contact with MUFC or Evra or his representatives with a view to resolving the situation on the basis of a misunderstanding?"
Answer "yes" and we're the good guys trying to make good a ****ed up situation.
Answer "no" - why the **** not if we're so convinced of Suarez' total innocence and that the whole situation was a misunderstanding?
One question - are there still peole who believe that the Suarez tshirts were a good idea? That they sent out the right message? And I know this type of language and approach will really bug some people and seem too Max ****in Clifford but the world of media is about the sending the right message at the moment and that doesn't have to mean you don't fight your corner or stand up for your principles - you just have to do it in a clever and appropriate way.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

Surely the FA would have to take "the armband" that he worships away from him as well and maybe even ban him from playing for England (bearing in mind that Suarez was accused of tarnishing the name of English football)?Originally posted by Jack D Rips View PostIf he is charged I presume he will be charged with the same offence as Luis. As he only said it once he will probably get a lighter ban.
Wouldn't Chelsea have to at least take their captaincy away as well if he was found guilty in a court of law?

Makes me sick, Terry is caught on camera, its an open and shut case .. yet nothing in the media not a single line ..
the Season will be all but over by the time they pull there finger out. I suppose if something good comes out all this in terms of racism in football in general its a small consolationAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Well we'll see if the press say the same sort of stuff about him as they did about Suarez, if Terry is found guilty. Also will they say similar things about the FA/Capello as they did about LFC/Dalglish is they publicly back Terry by letting him keep the armband.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostSurely the FA would have to take "the armband" that he worships away from him as well and maybe even ban him from playing for England (bearing in mind that Suarez was accused of tarnishing the name of English football)?
