Evra accuses Suarez of racism

Just rewatched Kenny's press conference from last night. The assembled press were really clamouring for Kenny to reveal what else he knew just as everyone on the radio and Twit**** is today. Now Kenny's always been a very shrewd and cagey individual and the journos know that all too well. I love the guy and feel I know enough about the man to conclude he's not just gonna spout this **** for no good reason.He's just not that ****ing stupid.Does anyone think there may be a smoking gun or some such bit of info that Kenny knows of that could really **** the FA up on this one?

I'd like to think so, but I'm doubtful because the smoking gun would be extremely useful in an appeal scenario and we haven't chosen that route.

The only machiavellian thing I can think of is that, in accepting the ban, real damage has been done, i.e. Luis has been banned, so if the FA can be shown to have deliberately ****ed us up - and we can demonstrate this - then we can maybe get at them in some way legally, whereas if we simply win an appeal and the ban is overturned, no 'real damage' had been done, therefore there would be no prospect of harming the FA in some way. I think it's extremely far-fetched, though.

I don't know if I was agreeing with you or disagreeing with you. I was just trying to recollect what happened with them two when they got found not guilty in their criminal case.

So, I think I was probably agreeing with you in that he will get charged whatever. Whether it is the right punishment, that we will have to wait to find out.

And I'm not sure you can use the words the words you don't believe Suarez used as an argument against my points about the club handling the situation badly.

If the mancs were interested in conciliation then they would have spoken to us first before making things formal, but a bitter cunt like Ferguson would never do that and pass up an opportunity to try and gain some advantage from it.

Yep, this is my belief based on the evidence i've seen, not one of 22 players, 11 team mates, 3 officials..nor any behind the goal mic's or cameras, picked up Suarez saying the word, as i said i could see them missing him saying it once..but not 5..7..or 10 times, what was the figure Evra finally settled for in the end anyway, nor did he bring it to the refs attention on each occasion either.

Was speaking with an enlightened manu fan today. His view was that Evra obviously thought he heard something offensive and obvious Suarez thought he'd done nothing to cause offence. His view is that instead of alienating both sets of fans (given that we both have a fair share of morons) the FA, recognising Suarez isn't thought to be a racist, should have sought conciliation and tried to unite players, clubs and fans against racism.
Instead they've heightened animosity between the clubs and he's fearful of the consequences when both clubs meet next month if either Evra or Suarez play, worried that there could even be knifing attacks between fans.

I agree with his assessment but hope his prediction doesn't come true.

Your mate is absolutely right (I have lifelong friends who are scum fans - sometimes they visit Earth) It would have been by far the most sensible outcome in every way. However the FA have FU'd again - and in a way that is extremely likely to ignite the less enlightened and/or intelligent amongst both sets of supporters.

The FA is contemptible.

In Denmark there has been several articles commenting on the 'to-hard' ban on Suarez - saying something similar to Blatters comments, that in the heat of a match - and with a handshake afterwards - some rudeness should be tolerated. There it is the FA, which stands out as ridiculous.

Suarez was at training today,even though he has an 8 game ban he was there today. Suarez seriously happy with the clubs backing. No issues.
