Yeah certainly. The press were certainly digging and I bet it's frustrating for Dalglish that he can't say anything. Having said that I wouldn't be suprised to see some leaks in the press over the coming days/weeks.

When this thread is over I think it would be good to have a serious discussion about the wider issues. It seems to me that the situation has clouded the issues rather than making things clearer. If I've changed my mind about anything it's more about our perception of racism, I think that the South American view is far less racist than our own. Acknowledging differences without prejudice seems to be much more elegant and civilised than pretending that there are no differences and stereotyping people for the sake of scoring points.

You are so right and unfortunetly very few people in England or Ireland for that matter A. speak two languages B. Appreciate just how culturally different the world cab be and C.Have the intellectual curiosity to do some research on the matter and not make a snap judgement on such matters as these.

They live in a black or white, red or blue world and obviously the world is not like that at all.

Its done, the club have dropped it, we must now drop it, we must learn our lessons, move on and support our falsely accused player. Hopefully he will go to Old Toilet and tear those utter shower of ******s and new ****ing arsehole

Are you surprised, the narrative was set a long time ago, I just hope a opportunity for us to return the favor to the FA, Alex Ferguson, United and Patrice Evra presents itself to us in time and each time we take it and exploit it with gusto

They are probably more furious with the FA's stitch up than with the owners/the club deciding enoughs enough

I think the club as a whole (including Kenny & Suarez) came to a general consensus

No I think its clear the club wanted to take this further but thought it was like banging their heads against a brick wall

Kennys not stupid he knows the games being played by the FA and the potential long term damage that could be done

Above all Kenny will always do what is best for the club - thats always been his ideology

I think in the best interest of the club this was the right thing to do, irrespective of what you think of the FA's report

The club should now refuse to comment on ANY Suarez/Evra questions

It should be met with you've read our statements we have nothing more to say

                          Wednesday 4 january 2012

Why I feel let down by Kenny and Liverpool FC

The world and his wife sat slack jawed in amazement last night just before Liverpool took on City at the Etihad.

A pair of truly ludicrous statements, one from Suarez and the other from LFC were added to by the nonsensical ramblings of Kenny Dalglish both before and after the match in which his Liverpool team were put to sword.

Now I have been very vocal about Liverpool’s poor behaviour throughout the Suarez affair it as, in my humble opinion demeaned one of the greatest clubs in the world.

But it is largely self inflicted and could have been solved with a touch of contrition and an apology from Suarez, one that would have allowed Liverpool to back the player through a tough time.

But no, last night we were allowed a peep behind the curtains into the inner workings of Liverpool and it was not pleasant.

Rather than a player accepting a punishment for an offence that almost every non- Liverpool supporting person I know considers him guilty of we were subjected to excuse after reason after bleating reason.

                          And here I paraphrase -

The FA are guilty of fitting up an innocent lad from a humble family.

The FA deliberately created a panel of experts who would find Suarez guilty, the FA were corrupt and anti-Liverpool.

The lad never did anything wrong and Liverpool FC have stood by him as he has principles and values that everyone at the clubs shares.

And here come the good bits.

Liverpool know what wasn’t said in the report. They are OK with Suarez because they know stuff that we, the public wont ever hear about, stuff the panel knew about but never mentioned in 115 pages of explanatory notes.

Kenny has spoken and we must accept that what has not been disclosed would have us all accept Suarez as an innocent in all of this.

And Kenny and Liverpool would like to tell us but they would get into trouble, and they dont want to get into trouble.

Kenny would love to provide full disclosure but, well he might be in trouble with the FA if he did and Liverpool FC might also be in trouble, so they will accept their punishment even though they are innocent.

But if any man on this planet should have chosen other words it is Kenny Dalglish.

Kenny is a man who has been at the centre of a real battle for full disclosure, a battle he and Liverpool will always have my full support in irrespective of what the current bun fight over Suarez turns into.

Kenny and LFC have stood proudly by the families of 96 fans as they refused to give up on a just and right and true cause for all the information about the tragedy that is Hillsbrough to be made available.

Part of me will always be little bit Liverpudlian, Scouse, A Red, because I have wanted those truths to have been found, for those families to get justice.

So for Kenny of all people to say that he knows something but to refuse to tell his own fans is an error of judgement that hurts far more than the actions of a South American footballer ever could.

Kenny is Liverpool, so what he says matters beyond what the FA say, or John W Henry or Suarez.

Surely for Kenny to have closed ranks in the face of injustice in the Suarez case is the last thing he should do.

If you are going to fight for justice then fight for it irrespective of the possible trouble you might get into.

That is what I have admired so much in Liverpool and in Kenny Dalglish in the past, and perhaps that’s why I am so disappointed by what is currently happening at LFC.

Even though I support another team Liverpool are supposed to be different, they are supposed to be better than what I heard last night.

Liverpool are the one club I know of who are inextricably linked to me by a fight for honesty and the one club that stands for dignity in the face of seemingly unbeatable odds.

Liverpool are, lets face it, a special club, a bigger club than the one that put out that statement last night.

And Kenny Dalglish is a bigger man than the one I saw interviewed last night too.

Kenny Dalglish if you know something that could prove your player innocent, if there are facts that are not yet in the public domain you have to live by your principles and get that information out there, because that is the Kenny Dalglish I can truly respect and honour.

I'm really starting to hate a lot of things about football. Considering ****ing of Twitter as I'm sick of reading all the ****e that gets thrown around - from journos, opposition fans, and even some of our fans. I'm not just referring to this case either. But it's just so useful for keeping up with news Perhaps I need to refine who I am following.
