Can we really afford to play underperforming players? For me i'd like to see Downing/Henderson & Adam replaced by Bellamy/Maxi & Gerrard (injury permitting)
With those 3 in, IMO we look a much stronger side.
They offer so much more in quality in all departments both in an attacking sense and when it comes to defensive duties.

at the start of the season I thought we would get 70 points which would have been enough for champions league. unfortunately the teams dynamic isnt right and unless something changes we wont see champions league for at.least another season.

part of the problems are tactical and part are poor player performances. the tactical issuez kenny really should sort out but its getting good out of carroll, henderson and adam thats the problem.

im not bothered about downing because if the donkeys upfront had put away some of his crosses he could have easily four or five assists to his name. he will deliver.

charlie adam is at the heart of the problem imo. he simply cannot play central midfield in a 442 and until hes moved out of there we just wont get anywhere. kenny bought him because of the form he showed at blackpool where he was their creative hub without any defensive responsibility so thats how hes best used.

if adam is to play we have to build the team around him because he doesnt have the attributes to fit into an existing team. he needs others to do his running, give him the ball and move move away from him to create time and space for him.

we could use him behind carroll and play suarez wide with downing wide left. its not fair to luiz or steven gerrard boh of who are more deserving of being the focal point of the team, but simply put there is no way charlie adam can fit into an existing team with its established players and just be another cog in the machine.

you literally have to build the team around him.

Man U, Chelsea, Man City, Totthenham and Arsenal don't really play with anymore defensive minded midfielders than we do.

Having has time to think about it, I think Andy Carroll and his lack of goals has alot to do with the fact that we're not scraping wins even when not playing particularly well. It was what he was bought to do and he's just not doing it atm.

look newcastle saw us coming a mile away and literally started rubbing their hands. if someone had said to us that we have 35m to spend on a top draw striker to replace fernando andy carrolls name wouldnt have been in the top hundred let alone fifty.

ok we did them over enrique to is worth a minimum of £15m and arguably up to 20. so weve overpaid on andy carroll by probably £20m and underpaid on enrique by about ten. to address the balance we need to sign tiote for a max of 10m and then the andy carroll is effectively neutral.

but theres no fuking way carrolls worth 35.

I think we all know Andy Carroll isn't worth 35Mil.
EVERYONE KEEPS BANGING THE **** ON ABOUT IT.

can we just give the guy a chance, with a few games under his belt he will start getting back to the form that saw us pay this sort of money for him.

Peter crouch took a while to start scoring .

Thing is, Rooney wasnt worth £27m when they signed him either. Was Torres worth £20m when we bought him? Based on his Atletico record, he probably wasnt.

It's only after a few years that you can say if the player has proven to be worth it or not, very few prove their worth straight away.

One thing we can all can agree on is that from 2009 till January 2011, we have underspent in relation to other clubs we are competing against. Again not a criticism of Rafa, due to the extreme circumstances he was put in he took gambles which did not work out. But the bottom line is that whatever money was spent was spent unwisely.

Bodge and Purslow came and worsened the situation. During the same time all of our competitors who were in a much stronger state to begin with in terms of squad depth were investing heavily and astutely.

Kenny did invest a lot and as I have said in previous posts it could have been invested more wisely. However irrespective of who did it and who didnt do it, the truth is that we were dealing with a highly underfunded and unstable squad in relation to our peers. Money and time are the two important resources a manager needs. Let us give Kenny the time to see what his vision is.

Second aspect is that we were broken a a club into divisions by January. What we needed was not a hot shot young manager, we needed a healer. There was only one choice there. And when he did well, we had only one option, to extend his contract.

Imagine three years down the line let us say there is a young hot shot manager who is ripping up the La Liga and wanted by us, Madrid and Barca. What is going to be our USP? We will fund you but not to the extent of others and if you dont perform within 11 games we will fire you? Or will it be we will give you resources, not to the extent of City but still a decent amount and we will give you THE TIME to establish your footballing identity?
                  Completely agree.

                      A false comparison.

With Rooney and Torres you could see that the potential was there. You could see that they could be world class.

Carroll? All I can see is pedigree chum.

And paying £35million was criminal. Nobody who paid that for him deserves to be taken seriously ever again or should be allowed to buy another player ever again

I'll make the point again, Kenny hater. The praise or blame cannot be placed with Dalglish alone. We have more than one person making and suggesting signings.

sorry craig but thats wrong. after ten games we all knew torres was special. united knew rooney was different to most players and he proved that during his first season at old trafford. andy carrolls been here since january and so far he's proved conclusively that it was money wasted.

honestly the first time I noticed him was when newcastle destroyed us 3 1 at theirs lasr season and he was by far the best player on the pitch. it helped him no end that he was up against martin skrtel.

sorry lads hes rubbish and cant be a first eleven player. we need a top quality striker who can score twenty a season. thats not andy carroll.

Does it really matter how much a player costs/is worth? What baring does it have on footballing ability, really? Only time it should matter is when we come to sell/buy.

Liverpool players are just that when it comes to the 11 on the pitch. Players.
