    Fernandinho is what we need.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

To be honest Adam is the player I'm most worried about. We're losing the midfield battle too often, we need a central midfield that can dominate the game and dictate play. Adam goes missing far too often and in my opinion lacks the ability and quality to dominate the midfield for long periods of the game.

If we get control of the midfield and dictate the play the more attacking players (strikers and wide players) will also have more influence on the game.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep. As long as Adam starts our midfield will get dominated. He isn't good enough for a club with top 4 aspirations.

Thats a different debate altogether though. I was pointing out that they hadnt been as bad as people were making out.

“Obviously after Saturday’s game and the trip I am a bit tired but I am recovering,” Suarez added
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has dropped out of the Scotland squad to face Cyprus in a friendly in Larnaca on Friday due to a knee injury.
Surely they could afford to lose Suarez, for that friendly in Italy?

Presteige friendly though. Im sure Uraguay put more emphasis on there national team. Especially as they are the South American Champions. They want there talisman there and to show they can compete on the world stage.

Players like Maxi, Spearing and Bellamy are suited to pass and move football but for some reason our manager believes that a rigid 442 is the way forward despite all the evidence to the contrary.
I'd like to see a stat comparison between last season (under Kenny) and this

In terms of chances created, shots, shots on target

I bet you there is little or no difference in the amount of chances we are creating / shots

                      The crucial difference is finishing

So really if we are creating the same number of chances/shots under 4-4-2 as we were under 4-2-3-1 I dont see how changing the formation is going to get us better results

The problem is in finishing those chances - its **** all to do with formations/players etc...

We are creating chances and players are missing those chances (that last season the same players might have been taking)

Dominated infers the midfield is being overrun all through games which absolutely isnt true

The only game that has happened was Spurs, and that imo was down to Parker who did a number on our midfield last season also (when at West Ham) and that central midfield didnt include Adam

Yes Norwich, Swansea have had periods in games when they have done well but you'd expect that

People are reading and imo creating way too much with this Adam thing

The simple thing is the team hasnt been doing too badly in ANY department except finishing
