Last season......Suarez, Carroll, Maxi and Kuyt. Four goal threats.

This season.......Suarez, Carroll, Downing and Henderson. Two goal threats.
Hmm not convinced of that because two of the players listed in both sections continue to miss chance on chance week in week out. Also Maxi is erratic at best take out his abheration of last season (2 hattricks) and he isnt that much of a goal threat anyway

Is it just possible that we have dipped below par in front of goal and that without making changes to the side it will level itself out?

That said I wouldnt play Downing I think in recent games hes been far and away our worst performer

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I dont get this whole 'Take out his hatricks and he scored 5 in the league' He did score them though. If only me auntie had bollocks she'd be me uncle.

              This is absolute garbage

Just look at how many times we have hit the bar it isnt all Suarez - Henderson, Carroll & Downing contribute the vast bulk of woodwork hits

Remember also Carroll hasnt started every game yet Suarez has still continued to miss chances

The margin between success and failure is often a fine line at the moment ALL of our forward players are failing in front of goal

Its not down to one individual more than any other - ALL of them are underperforming

Stats dont lie and the one that said Suarez only converts 11% of his chances is a shocking stat for a player of his undoubted ability

I'd imagine Carroll's own stats are probably not too far off that

and he was our most creative player. He created more chances than Suarez. He always popped up in the box in the right place. I think it is called game intelligence.

I'm saying you cant rely on him to score consistantly even though he got those hattricks

                  They definitely skew his stats

And didnt Adam, Downings and Hendersons stats of last season show they created more goal-scoring opportunities than Maxi (I think they did if I remember correctly)

But they dont though. If I took out all the other goals like your doing with the hatricks he would have scored none. **** player on those stats.

What your doing is ignoring things to make your point. Its the same as when people remark about Adam's goal tally last year. He scored alot of penalties. But people dont seem to think they're not real goals. They are, so they count.

We don't know that, do we.

Maybe he had learned how to play in the PL and gelled into the team. Maybe that is why he scored a lot of goals and created a lot of chances.

That still rankles, does it? You got hold of the wrong end of the stick there, you know.

Um, as yer auntie said to yer uncle.

Yea, I am very aware of it now. What end of the stick should I have got hold of?

If you look at Ronnie Rosenthal during his run in in 1990 you could say he was a great finisher (what was it 9 goals in 9 games?)

He never hit anywhere near that level again

That imo is what Maxi will be

You cant rely on him to do that week in week out, it was an aberration
