Serious question for those that believe all our problems this season are done to Suarez's poor finishing - How did we manage to score so many goals last season under Dalglish (namely Fulham away, Birmingham and Newcastle at home etc.) but this season we are 11th in the league in terms of goals scored (14) Norwich and Bolton have scored more than us so far.

I dont see anybody claiming it is solely down to Suarez

The whole side is underperforming in front of goal

The argument appears to be that some are suggesting changing formation/tactics/personnel would improve our finishing

I just dont see how that improves the finishing levels of Suarez or anyone else in the side

True. Formation and Tactics IMO wouldn't make too much difference. For me the central issue is that we have 4 players in Adam, Carroll, Henderson and Downing who are not performing to the level expected at this club. It may be because they need time to gel with their new team mates, are feeling the pressure of being at a big club or they are mediocre players that simply aren't good enough.
Whatever the explanation, Dalglish is persisting with these players for reasons unknown. I think many fans believe that if those players were dropped and replaced with Maxi, Spearing and Bellamy we would turn things around.

True. Formation and Tactics IMO wouldn't make too much difference. For me the central issue is that we have 4 players in Adam, Carroll, Henderson and Downing who are not performing to the level expected at this club. It may be because they need time to gel with their new team mates, are feeling the pressure of being at a big club or they are mediocre players that simply aren't good enough.

Agree that Maxi is not the answer in terms of scoring goals. The point I was trying to make is that the last season under Dalglish I believe we scored lots of goals because we were playing pass and move football and using a fluid, modern 4231 formation. Players like Maxi, Spearing and Bellamy are suited to pass and move football but for some reason our manager believes that a rigid 442 is the way forward despite all the evidence to the contrary.
