All I am getting now from this thread is that it's Suarez's fault he is not scoring enough. How about we discuss players that arnt making the grade, instead of ones that are.

There is a stat: he's won player of the month three times in row.Originally posted by cream View PostSuarez contributes more to the team than anyone else, but there isn't a stat to show this. People should try watching the game a bit more.
People should stop thinking so much about football..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Nobody is arguing thisOriginally posted by cream View PostSuarez contributes more to the team than anyone else, but there isn't a stat to show this. People should try watching the game a bit more.
The only thing I have constantly been saying is that those blaming other players for our failings should also point the finger at him
Hes as guilty as ANYBODY else for wasting chances (no matter who created them)
At the end of the day scoring goals is the most important stat
to have one of the highest number of shots on goal and only have low conversion rates shows our problem isnt necessarily to do with teamwork, tactics, creativity etc..
Its putting the ball in the netBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I never said it is all his fault
Hes as much to blame as others
Hes missed as many chances as Carroll, Downing etc.....
If you are gonna slaughter them for failing in that department he has to also take some blame (no matter how good he is)Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

So Suarez wouldn't score more goals if he played with Barcelona instead of us and played in the same position, as a striker?
I think that is what Lec is suggesting.
Our other attacking players, almost always Downing, Henderson and Carroll, is as great as Villa, Pedro and Iniesta. I didn't knew that.
Our wing backs is as great as Alves and Abidal. I didn't knew that.

Im simply not in the habit of blaming our best player this season for not putting away a few goals. He has been amazing this season.
I want to state I'm not in anyway advocating dropping him or anything like that, but despite marvelling at his general ability his finishing is very disappointing (for a player of that calibre)
As our main goal threat he'll undoubtedly be judged on his goal tally at the end of the seasonBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Suarez isn't only signed to score goals. Carroll on the other hand is an out and out striker and should score a lot more than he do.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI want to state I'm not in anyway advocating dropping him or anything like that, but despite marvelling at his general ability his finishing is very disappointing (for a player of that calibre)

Henderson and Downing play in two attacking positions and should act that way on the pitch. Now they act more like two defensive wingers than attacking ones.
Enrique is very often more attacking than Downing. Johnson/Kelly is very often more attacking than Henderson.Stop the cyberhate

He'd get more chances BUT would his conversion rate improve beyond 11 or 12% - who knows
Hell Andy Carroll would probably score more goals playing for Barcelona
I'd score ****ing goals in that Barcelona side frankly and I'm going on 40, have two ****ed knees a knackered ankle and am permanently pissedBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
