They obviously need to recognise that what they are saying does fly massively in the face of popular opinion right now and try not to be unnecessarily incendiary, however it would be appreciate if people could just prove them wrong with logical argument rather than by having a go.

I'm prepared to take a lot of stick for my opinion. I said that in my first post in the thread. Stick is ok as you say, abuse isn't.

We must do it step by step. The first step is getting back into the CL. The second step is getting a new stadium. Then we move on from there.

City will improve all the time. They will continue to spend big money. If we miss out on the CL again then the gap will be even bigger when next season start.

That is why a top four place this season is a must.
So a long term plan then, but why sack the manager after only 3 months?

          Excellent team building.
          Oh come on Arn

Seriously what City have done is fantasy spending it has nothing to do with an "excellent plan"

Remember they spunked gazillions ££££'s under Mark Hughes, before sacking him and spending tons of cash again under Mancini

A comment over the weekend sums up City (even if it was said tongue in cheek)

When asked how they would cope without Yaya Toure when he goes to the Africa Nations Cup in January, Micah Richards' reply was blunt "We'll just go out and buy someone else"

To expect us to follow that sort of spending spree in anyway shape or form is unrealistic and out of touch with the real world

Please dont compare us to City and dont expect us to emulate them in anyway, it does nothing for your argument or your credibility as a poster

I hope andy carroll turns this around but theres a chance we will buy someone to play with suarez to score goals for the team because nobody wants another season without champions league and at the moment we dont look like delivering.

we waited a long time for some players like babel and aquilani but they.just didnt deliver. sometimes they just dont.
Said this elsewhere, but I think foreign players might find it easier in some cases to adjust to Liverpool, the british players might find the burden of expectations more difficult. Hope we are done with the british core, there is not a single british player I am interested in, who is realistically available that is.

Because playing 4-4-2 is causing Suarez & Carroll et al to miss numerous chances

Carroll was injured for the vast bulk of the first 6 months of his Anfield career so I think you have to give him a bit of a break

There is no doubt hes not worth £35 million today but those writing him off completely are jumping the gun a touch

For me the lads game has improved over the last few weeks

If hes not producing anything at the end of this season then lets address it then

Incidentally for all his brilliance I think we could also expect Suarez (a £20 million+ striker) to have a better chances/conversion rate than 11%

It isnt just Carroll that is failing to hit the mark

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Suarez is a lot more than just scoring goals, he's a creator, a spark, involved in everything good that we do. Carroll is, quite frankly, ****.

OK Kenny Funny how we as fans start to pick up on those phrases the managers use Didn't work with Roy since he didn't really use phrases, only very, very long sentences. But everyother poster was using Rafa speak before.

Jeez I've been using that phrase since before Kenny was first in charge

It was always used around the dressing rooms when I was a kid playing for local amateur/semi pro sides

He isn't ****. He just don't fit into what you need from strikers these days in a top class team.

Dzeko isn't that much quicker than him but he compensates that with excellent technique and game intelligence.

As you point out, Suarez is much much more than a goalscorer. You take up some points but he is also top class winning the ball back.

That is something for example that Carroll isn't. That means when he play that Suarez must cover some of his space instead of Carroll himself covering it.

Suarez must work his socks off in defence because Carroll isn't quick or good enough doing it.
