Can't remember much from those dark days, but this sounds like a Roy move

According to reports in Italy, the Brazilian holding midfielder - who has failed to impress under both former manager Rafael Benitez and Hodgson - is being lined up by Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan for a raid in the new year.

And the Reds manager has no qualms about shipping out the 23-year-old, who now appears to be surplus to requirements since the arrivals of Christian Poulsen and Raul Meireles in the summer.

Hodgson believes new recruits are needed to rebuild his side, who are struggling badly this season with just six points from their first six Premier League games.

Lucas was brought to the club from Gremio under Benitez in 2007, but has been largely underwhelming and is consistently the target of the Kop's ire after a poor performance.

However, Hodgson believes the club can still cash in on the player, whose reputation remains good on the continent after some impressive performances in European competition in recent seasons.

Spanish side Malaga are also reportedly interested in Lucas, and he looks certain to leave - with Hodgson hopeful of securing a fee in the region of £8million, which he will then use on new players in January.

How much do you reckon he's worth now?

Interesting question. More to us than we'd get for him.

Honestly about £20m, but if you consider the price we paid for Henderson more like £30m. But £20m would be a price we couldnt go lower than. Too be fair, his value increases every time I see him play.

Yeah I'd say that's probably fair.

Lucas will have ligament or cartilage damage, you can see that from how he twisted his knee and then where he held his knee.
The only question is will it be a tweak or more serious. The cut is irrelivent

                      Fingers crossed its nothing serious

If someone bid £20m for him, we'd turn it down and rightly so.

Hopefully gone are the days of selling our best players.

Ohh I don't doubt that. But Id guess that would be his selling price if we were looking to get rid. When we don't want to sell him, like any of our players. He is invaluable.

You still get the impression that very few people outside those associated with LFC rate him.
