Another body in there wouldnt be a bad thing anyway and I dont think it'd be a panic buy if he is out for 6 months when Gerrard has been injured in various stages for nearly a year now aswell.

If its just another body needed to sit on the bench (as Spearing and Hendo will be first picks) then simply recall that bald header geezer from Blackpool. Carling Cup is nearly over and the FA Cup is played over a weekend, so no more midweek games left for us.

Like someone mentioned above, I'd rather make a strategic buy (Hazard / Lucas) than a tactical one in January. Otherwise wait 'til summer as we're sufficiently stocked.

I don't understand the need to panic-buy. The injury is gutting obviously as even I came around to Lucas' value, but this is exactly why we still have Spearing/Hendo in the squad. Not saying they're as good as him, but both are good enough and with premiership experience. That's the whole point of a squad.

Could be the making of either of them. I wouldn't spend money on a midfielder in Jan, we're going for 4th, the boys should be good enough for that.

IF IF IF lucas is out for 6 months, i dont see the need to buy anyone personally. gerard will be back soon, henderson could get a shot in his favoured position and with his athleticism he could cover pretty well, spearing was onto a good game last year and this, shelvey could be brought back from loan to cover (granted that would stunt his personal progression as a player), and of course adam is there.

thats 4 central midfielders with the possibility of 5 with shelvey. i would rather go woth those players than buy another and when lucas is fit again be overloaded with central players.
